first it was blogger. so i hopped on board and my first blog was born. (with a ridiculously awful name…"i write, therefore i blog" yikes! will never live that one down…)
then it was myspace. so i got myself a myspace page.
then it was flickr. so all my photos got put up on my flickr page. for the world to see.
then came facebook. so, yes, you got it, on to facebook i went.
now it’s…twitter?
twitter is, by definition, another social networking service. (as if we needed something else to suck our time?). the spin on twitter is that it’s all about updating, basically, well, what you’re up to. with a 140-character limit. so, entries are short and sweet and pretty unmeaningful.
"i just woke up. still tired."
"i’m off to yoga class."
"just ate lunch. pizza. mmm..pizza"
something like this.
boring? sure.
meaningless? sure.
deep? most certainly not.
addictive? likely. although i still have trouble figuring out why.
oh, and it doesn’t just stop there. for the pro, there’s twitterholic, which tracks the top 100 twitterers in terms of followers. oh, and don’t forget twittermap and twittervision.
and it doesn’t even have to be real. check out the sir darth vader. he’s got his own twitter account. as does his son. (so how come you don’t?)
so…what’s your take? is it worth jumping on the twitter bandwagon? is it going to take off like facebook? or is it going to fizzle?

Twitter is fun on the days that I’m living at teh computer. It gives me breaks from the “real” work. Other days? I dont’ twitter at all. No one follows me, either, I don’t think. Why do I do this? Hmmm…

I just can’t think of anything to say! I rarely update it and then feel guilty and loserish for not being a twitter fanatic. Anyone out there into it?? What’s the secret??

I am always late to the party on these things. I am still using Blogger for my blog……..and I am loving Facebook to bits.
I certainly don’t update enough to be a Twitterer……

Don’t understand the purpose of twitter, but will admit that I’m totally addicted to Facebook. Love being able to be more in touch with my friends around the country / world, but my friend list is restricted to people I really know, not all acquantainces. Plus I like to try out my “blogging” on the notes section. Looked at Twitter and it doesn’t catch my eye, so will still to Facebook and blog reading.

I think this twitter thing is CRAZY!!!! It’s as bad as The Blackberry. I REFUSE to get a blackberry because I’m one of those rare people in the world who gets a thrill when NO ONE knows where I am. I don’t like being totally attainable all the time. Only when I get in front of my computer (which is OFTEN), but not, like, when I’m out to dinner or on a walk or whatevs. Josh NEVER leaves home without it. And, I know, I married him and his blackberry…..
I honestly feel sorry for people who are addicted to other people’s lives — twitter peeps. Mind you, I’m addicted to Big Brother….and most reality shows…and blogs………

I can barely keep up with reading all the blogs on this site, + a couple of other blogs, + facebook. I am getting no work done as it is – lol!!! I think I’ll wait on this one and see how big it gets. When do you sleep?! Or do you…
