This is a great Canadian entrepreneurial success story. Just over five years ago, makeup artist and esthetician Gianna Santelli recognized the need in the market for a foolproof way to help women create and shape their brows.
Using 3M materials, she created Ditzy Cosmetic’s Brow Creator, a stencil set. Women can either use the inside of the stencil as a guide for tweezing ample brows, or the outside part of the stencil to fill in sparse brows. The stencils come in a variety of shapes so that women can choose the style that most flatters their face.
At the same time, she created her waterproof pomade in a variety of natural shades to allow women to recreate the brows that they’ve lost for a number of reasons. Women who overplucked as teenagers and chemo patients are some of Ditzy’s most loyal followers, but Gianna says we all lose eyebrow hairs as we age and can all benefit from a little amplification of our natural gifts.
Ditzy’s Brow stencil sets were launched in salons and on QVC Shopping Channel in the United States five years ago, and were an instant hit. This year they’ve launched in Rexall stores across Canada and Gianna’s anticipating the same reaction north of the border.
The stencil sets are $7.95 and will last up to two weeks, while the very natural brow palette makeup kits are $12.95 and will last for over two months. The product line also includes tweezers, brushes, and a fantastic waterproof brow gel which has become a favourite in my makeup case. Even on days when I’m wearing minimal makeup, I find that well-groomed brows really finish my look.
Perhaps you’ve got a teenage daughter who has plucked a little too aggressively in the bathroom behind closed doors. Perhaps you’ve got a friend or relative who has lost her brows following chemotherapy. Perhaps it’s you whose eyebrows could use a little help. Check out Ditzy Cosmetic‘s products online or at a Rexall store near you, and support a Canadian success story!

What a great idea! Wish I’d had this back in my teen years when I had the bright idea to use Neet on my brows…it ate away almost everything so I just had two little spots of brow about 1cm wide above each eye. Soooooooo embarrassing!
