My name is Amanda and I am gaining weight by the hour.
I am newly pregnant with my third child and will be chronicling the joy, the discomfort, the excitement and the inevitable stretch marks that will greet me on this gestational journey.
Anyone who knows me or my children in real life was quite shocked when we broke the news of this latest baby, since motherhood hasn’t been the most natural of transitions for me. I love my girls, but our oldest has been a fiery challenge from day one and the youngest has a penchant for temper tantrums and a refusal to sleep through the night. Despite these obstacles, neither my husband nor I felt completely “done”, as though our family were complete. So, here we are. This will be our final pregnancy and I am thrilled about meeting this new little person and seeing how they enhance our family dynamics. I know that we are in for some crazy, sleep-deprived, hormonal and dark days, but we both know it will be worth it in the long run.
I look forward to sharing my experiences here and hope you enjoy hearing about this crazy life we’re leading.

Congratulations on baby #3! I’ve been following you since you were pregnant with #1. I have been pregnant with you for the last two, but you’re on your own this time. I hope this one has an easy, even temperament for you!

I read kickyboots every week, but never leave a comment, and find it absolutley hilarious! I just had my first baby and hearing stories and challenges from other moms, while I’m stuck in my house, via internet-is so helpful, and makes me feel better when I’m having just one of those days…I look forward to reading about Amanda on another website!

Hi Amanda,
I follow Kickyboots faithfully, but for some reason am unable to comment there, so I wanted to say thanks for sharing. I’m right there with you. Our kids are close in age and I’m 8 weeks along with #3. I love your humor in the face of seemingly insurmountable frustrations that accompany toddlers & preschoolers. You make me laugh when I really need to.
I’m a big fan, getting bigger by the minute!
