Helen Wins Biggest Loser

May 14, 2009 by Unknown

The Biggest Loser is one of the only shows that my husband and I watch together. It’s a 2-hour filled time slot in our day where we count the product placements and laugh at Jillian’s pleather pants. There’s a good chance that I will cry. At least thrice.

Going into the final four of this season’s Biggest Loser Couples, I was pretty thrilled. I was a big fan of Tara, Helen, and son-and-dad team Mike and Ron throughout the game.

I have to say, however, I was highly disappointed in the finale.

Three hours?!?! Seriously? Even with my pvr and my remote, it was still too long. Too much of the SAME EXACT THING. yes, i liked seeing the transformation of each of the three finalists (see ya, Ron) but did i really need to see it 6 times during the finale? No! no, i did not.

and did i really need to see two girls who looked exactly the same (pretty girls trapped in giant bodies) for more than half of the show? no! no, i did not.

and did i need to see those two horrific green and pink dresses? no! no, i did not. where were the a-lines, ladies? where was the forgiving fabric?

I wanted a Max update! I wanted to know how their bodies dealt with their post-marathon bodies. I wanted a Mandi’s dad update.

and you know I’m all for getting healthy…but Helen? THE WINNER? looked awful. 117 pounds is low low low for someone her height. and her arms? EW. also? she looked OLD AND WEATHERED. very Magda from There’s Something About Mary.

I mean, obviously, I’ll be watching again next season, crying away and looking for products placements…

i loved kristin and sione. so sad when they were voted off…the product placements are so “the truman show.”

I didn’t watch the show the whole season and even I felt there was too much of the same thing. PVR 4x’s fast forward was our friend to get to the interesting parts during that finale! 🙂

    Agreed!
And I would love to see Max on next season. Everytime I saw him I was saddened that his whole family was transformed and he was left behind. I think many viewers would really like to see more of him or rather less of him 😉 Producers would be wise to think about him when casting!

I was cheering for Tara … she was freakin’ amazing all season.
Helen lost a ton of weight and I agree she was too thin. Will she be able to maintain it? I doubt it.
I was hoping for updates on Max and the dad too. They need so much help.

I tooooootally agree. I love this show but not only was the footage repeated over and over again last night but it was footage I had seen a million times during the season. Helen was definitely too skinny and so was Jerry. I waited all night for an update on Max but only got glimpses of his still large form sitting in the audience! But, like you, I can not give up my weekly catharsis. So, I’ll continue to tune in next season hoping for a more satisfying finale.
