I got my eyebrows threaded for the first time last week by a sweet, petite young woman from India who spoke little English. The procedure was quick and relatively painless (well, as painless as getting your hairs ripped out by their roots can be). It only took five minutes and cost a mere five bucks and I will definitely have it done again. My eyebrows are really sparse on their edges so I’ve always found it hard to eke out any real shape to them, but this lady worked some magic.
After she completed by brows she sat poised with more thread in her mouth and said, “We do upper lip now?” and I kind of shook my head no, since I didn’t think it was necessary. The look in her eyes, however, told me that she thought I was unknowingly taking part in Movember. I have fair hair and didn’t really think I had a freaking MOUSTACHE. Live and learn.
Long live the ‘stache! (Maybe the cute baby will detract from my manly facial hair.)
Have you ever had threading done? What’s your favourite method of hair removal? Have you ever had a Brazillian? Inquiring minds need to know!

I get my eyebrows threaded all the time!!! I Loooooove it! It used to be only $5, but they keep upping the price… it’s still less than $10 though and I think that is just right!

Either tweeze or wax brows, laser upper lip and bikini (the BEST) but I too prefer to look that I have gone through puberty so not a full Brazilian.
Important note: facial hair does not improve as you age. May as well face up to it and get it done!

First of all, you’re adorable and if it weren’t for the baby in your arms, I’d say YOU look like a baby.
Hair removal is such a bitch – I wish I could just do it once and be done with it all. I pluck my own brows, but have to fill them back in with makeup, thanks to overtweezing during my (misspent) youth. I shave my legs in the summer so I can be pool-ready all the time, but I wax in the winter when I can. Brazilian with the landing strip is my fave. And I started waxing my ‘stache once in a while a few years ago, and Movember made me realise I should probably do it more often. Ack.

I’ve been waxing my stache since ever, and tweezing my eyebrows since my wedding. I used to get a parisian waxing done (everything from the navel on back), but now I just shave all but a landing strip. I will say, though? If you decide to go plastic-free and switch to an old-school razor, practice on your legs first. Wowzers!
And, yes, I totally agree with everyone else. You look SO CUTE!

Very Nice picture! And you are brave! I cannot survive threading at all (feel like they are erasing my face!) Plucking is way better for me.

I’m a waxing queen. and I’ve been doing the stache for years…I kissed a friend on the cheek and he said ooh soft stache….WTF…so it’s gone forever. I do a quasi brazilian….clean off everything and leave a landing strip…I love it. I just feel cleaner.
I agree with Christine! YOu do look SO young and that baby….oooh man she is adorable!

no brazilian for this mama, but a regular old bikini wax doesn’t hurt as much as one might thing…legs on the other hand. they did 1/2 of ONE leg and i made them stop and left in tears!!!!

When I look at myself in my rear view mirror I TOTALLY have a moustache! It freaks me out but then I look at myself in pretty much any other mirror and I can’t see it. She would definitely want to thread my upper lip, but then would it come back thicker? I don’t want it to get any worse.
Christine says
I tweeze my own eyebrows (not very well)
Shave my legs.
Just standard bikini waxing for me.
No Brazilian. I prefer to look like I’ve gone through puberty – but that’s just me.
And I have noticed some slight upper lip happenings lately. I’m choosing to ignore.
And cripes you look like the babysitter in that picture! So young and cute!
(Adorable ADORABLE bebe!! I want to squish her cheeks!)
