It was Hollywood’s big night and all eyes were on Ricky Gervais to see who he’d insult…to hear all of his zingers….and frankly? YAWN. He was dullsville!
Who should host next year? Seth Rogen. He stole the show with one line.
I love how Kate giggled. She’s a trooper. But you’re here for fashion. I know you are.
I have one small issue. My photo agency is a little, tiny bit CHEAP so I don’t have access to all the pictures…so yes, I do have some people missing from my best and worse BUT I think I’m capturing the highlights.
Best of the Night???
I have to be honest, I went to bed thinking no one is really sticking with me. I don’t think it was an amazing night for fashion.
My favourite was Jessica Alba. I just thought she was incredible – she glowed.
My next favourite? Rooney Mara. Yes she looks like she has a broom handle up her ass at all times but I thought the dress was beautiful – I want to wear it. And I love her hair and skin.
My other faves, who I don’t have access to pictures of? (google people…google). Viola Davis, Kristen Wigg (although it was a ton like her Emmy dress…but I love the hippy feel to the whole get up) and I’m still torn on the Salma Hayek one. The other trend I loved was young actresses looking fresh and young – the two girls from Modern Family and Clooney’s co-star in The Descendents. They all looked their age and beautiful (but poor Sarah Hyland…her zipper failed on the red carpet!!).
The worst???
Well thank you Golden Globe gods for putting the two worst dresses on stage at the same time to hand out an award. I went to see Disney Princesses on Friday night. These two could have played the two wicked step-sisters. Both so wrong on two beautiful women.
My next worst?
Michelle Williams. And it pains me to say it because I love her. Her speech was amazing. Why the headband? Why the Morticia Adams dress?
(sorry this was the only version I could find).
But hands down the WORST of the night (Perez Hilton…are you insane for calling this the best???) was Lea Michelle. Go on …google it. I wish she’d stop trying so hard. I do.
Honourable mentions for the night should go to ….
Uggie the dog from The Artist….although I personally wouldn’t have worn the collar with the bow-tie…but that’s just me.
Best couple of the night??? So easy! George Clooney shocked the crowd when he ditched that wrestler broad and introduced the world to his new partner in crime….the one chick who will never ask for a wedding ring…a lowly mom blogger from Canada…..that’s right…ME…
What were your faves from last night? Best? Worst? I’ll try to get back to you but I’m exhausted from partying all night….Angie really lets loose when she leaves those kids at home. Man.

I loved Kate Beckinsale- she was my favourite for the night and I can’t believe she wasn’t on the lists. Jessica Alba was perfection! I also loved Emma Stone.
All in all, though, I was unimpressed and changed the channel to watch the Kardashians, who never disappoint;)

Laura _ I totally agree with you. Melissa has looked so good at other shows – this one just made her shoulders look so round…and I looooooved Octavia Spencer – amazing.

As a plus sized gal myself, may I take a moment to critique a couple of plus sized actresses? I thought Melissa McCarthy looked terrible. The dress made her look shapeless and the colour was drab. On the other hand, Octavia Spencer looked gorgeous and glam as she accepted her Best Supporting Actress award for The Help. The lavender colour complimented her and the way the dress gathered and hugged her curves made her look so beautiful and voluptuous. A bit of bling for the special night was the right touch as well.

ooh Julie – I hadn’t seen Diana Agron – GORGEOUS.
And I need to add – EMMA STONE – in my top three. And by far the worst – and again – pains me to say it – Connie Britton. What the hell happened. The networks were kind not to show her…not good.

I wondered if SMG’s 2yr old left an uncapped blue crayola marker on her dress…didn’t like it at all.
I agree that Jessica Alba looked glowing.
I also thought Kate Beckinsale was stunning – as always.
Madonna’s bad humour toward Ricky with her fake accent was a little embarrassing to watch.
I also wondered how Angie feels about George’s revolving door of girlfriends. Does she not tire of having to meet all these women?
I thought his shout out to Brad for his non-Hollywood work was a nice touch.
Also? William H Macy and Felicity Huffman reaffirmed my love for them.

seth rogen, of course! he would be a good choice. ricky didn’t disappoint since i figured he would just do what he did last year and i didn’t find him awful last year at all. he said it…he didn’t say anything that wasn’t untrue! i did like how he “ran away” from madonna after she dinged him before her presentation speech.
my almost favourite dress was diana agron. i saw just the bodice sitting behind someone and i thought it was the most beautiful thing ever and then i saw the whole thing and it was a big let down for me.
what was with all the green? i loved it but it was everywhere! laura dern looked lovely!

I definitely watch the GG for the fashion and the lewd humour! it didn’t disappoint on both fronts. I agree ab Jessica Alba – glowing! made me a little hostile though bc she JUST had a baby. Personally, i had nightmares ab Angelina’s big red lips – i thought her whole look was just terrifying. i loved salma hayek, reese witherspoon, and viola davis. i agree about the stepsisters – what were they thinking? jessica biel was very blaah, and meryl streep could have perked her look up a bit.
