Also, I love Glee. Let’s just put that on the table right now, okay? I love the music, the characters, the clothing, the one-liners (“You crap on my leg, I’ll cut it off!”)
BUT…
A) Why is Will Schuester on the road to becoming my least favorite character to ever be on TV ever? Seriously. BOUNDARIES, Will. Get some. STAT. Pity-kissing Coach Bieste? That was so ridiculously inappropriate, I don’t even have the words. Why was that necessary? The scene could have been so great, so important, so touching…without Will crossing a boundary he has no business crossing.
B) Playing the stereotype? Why does Dave the football jock jerk bully *have* to be gay and closeted, or at least, confused about his sexuality? Why couldn’t they just make him the football jock jerk bully? Making him confused is taking the easy way out, something I wouldn’t think Glee would do. It’s usually a show that likes to push boundaries and think outside the box.
These weird plot issues aside, I have to say, THIS was all kinds of good and creepy at the same time (Slo-mo much?)
and I love that Kurt is finally getting some goodness in his life. He is a ridiculously fabulous character and it’s time that he gets a little happy into his life. (Also, he needs an Emmy.)
Best line of the night? “With those abs, you could be my very own Situation.”
Also, there was not enough Sue Sylvester, Rachel Berry, and Emma Pillsbury in this episode. I’m just saying.
Ali says
Haley…Oh, I don’t think he was crossing professional boundaries. I think he was crossing personal ones. He clearly isn’t INTO her, so why does he need to kiss her??? BARF.

I’m obsessed with that Teenage dream video. It makes me feel so HAPPY! It was the perfect scene for me — best song of the season.
I hated that scene between Mr. Schuester and Bieste. But he wasn’t technically crossing (at least) professional boundaries when he kissed her because she had quit at that point (recall confetti?). Still…, it really wasn’t necessary, could have TOTALLY done without it.
I would LOVE to see Chris Colfer win an Emmy.

Ok, Darren Criss COMPLETELY reminds me of Dean Cain from Lois and Clark with Teri Hatcher. The resemblance is striking. Except I really can’t picture Dean Cain singing about wearing skin tight jeans…..
Ali says
YES. Bieste’s outfits. YES!!!!!
Meghan says
YES. *I AGREE. 100%.
The Will thing was totally creepy and COMPLETELY inappropriate. And icky. He’s gross.

I liked it, if only for seeing the look on Kurt’s face when he was watching the uh, was it Warblers? I think so. Anyways, getting to see his character truly happy for once was a great moment.
The rest of the episode was just so. . .predictable. It did need more Sue. (and more of Brittany’s one liners, I live for those.)

I think that there weren’t enough songs, the bully kiss was predictable, and it was a mediocre episode. Although the different Coach Bieste fantasy outfits? Hilarious.
