Gulp! Gulp! Gulp!
That’s the sound of me coming up for air these days. Back to school, end of baseball season, start of hockey season, next year’s baseball tryouts, school forms, homework, swimming lessons, more school forms…yikes!!!
After a busy, but less scheduled summer, this readjustment to our programmed lives seems a little overwhelming. During the past two weeks, the eating habits of our family have definitely suffered. Pizza has become a staple and vegetables are a distant memory.
That’s why it was a perfect time to introduce Ozery’s Pita Break’s new Just Minis to my family. We’ve long been fans of Ozery’s Pitas, and the Just Minis are baked with all natural goodness, free of artificial preservatives, just like the big pitas.
They come in different flavours, including Multigrain, Muesli and Apple Cinnamon. There are 14 pitas per package, and they contain no Trans Fat. In short, they’re a perfect little snack for little (and not so little) hands.
This week, we’ve tried Apple Cinnamon pitas spread with cream cheese and jam, Muesli spread with nutella and Multigrain with peanut butter. All three were kid-approved and provided a nice punch of protein between school and sports.
The package also suggests that the savoury flavours make great buns for your burger sliders, or a base for your bruschetta.
I’m a big fan of the Toronto-based family owned bakery shop, Ozery’s Pita Break, and I’m glad to see that it’s evolved into a household brand. Not only can I get behind their philosophy of “We are what we eat”, but the company was recently chosen one of the 50 organizations to receive an award as the 2010 Best Employers in the Greater Toronto Area.
Pick up some Just Minis for at the grocery store and tell me how you serve them!
