Recycling is the process of turning one product’s useful parts into a new product. It’s not rocket science, and it’s not new, but it makes good sense, and as consumers we’re seeing more and more recycled products available.
What is a hot and exciting trend is the growing offering of recycled products that make great gift ideas. Many holiday gift guides are promoting the advantages of giving green (and they’re not talking about a wallet full of green!). Green products are increasingly popular as holiday gifts because everyone can feel good about them. Environmentally conscious gift givers, and receivers alike, are happy to find offerings that are attractive, useful and not eco-destructive.
One source for these cool recycled products is the Ontario Tire Stewardship program, and the end results from that program offer a number of gift ideas. This short video explains the program simply and straightforwardly.
And this year you can take your old black back, they’ll turn it into green, and you can wrap it up with a big red bow and put a wonderful recycled product on your holiday list. I’m thinking this Multy Home Recycled Door Mat would make a perfect gift for my sister-in-law who is moving in with her boyfriend next month…what better way to warm their home than with this handsome, practical and environmentally friendly welcome mat?!
