From My Closet – May 27th, 2011

May 27, 2011 by Tracey

Here’s my rain gear. I’ve been wearing this a lot lately, including today.
I bought this jaunty rain chapeau from Winners a few years ago, since I find it impossible to use an umbrella while pushing a stroller at the same time. (I don’t drive – I walk everywhere.) It’s made by Platania, awesome hat-makers from Italy. (You know how Italians make all the good stuff…) I l-l-love it, and it fits me perfectly. As does this amazing trench coat that a friend passed along to me recently. It cuts away in the front, unlike a standard robe-wrap trench coat, and it has excellent deep pockets, each with a cool button detail. It’s nice to have a full-length coat for bad weather – it helps keep the stroller-mud-backsplash off my pants. I dunno how I’ve managed to live without one until now.
Sun, will you please come back? It’s nearly June. (Balls.) At least this outfit makes pretending to be a spy a whole lot more fun…

Its good, right? Um… Im not sure who designed it, but its the house brand for Simons stores (Quebec only, perhaps) called TWIK. The fit is good. I cant believe my lady-friend gave it to me…!

You even have a rainy-day look on your face! You look, as usually, perfect. I could not do the hat. It would be totally Kim Mitchell and we don’t want any of that 😛

I love me my bucket rain hat. I hate umbrellas too. Also my Kamik rain boots. My coat is somewhat less fashionable (ahem.. borderline ugly) but it’s awesome raspberry pink to keep the grey days cheery.
