I bought this little skirt during a sidewalk sale from Le Chateau. It was just hanging there, completely adorable and beckoning… it’s sage in colour, perfectly soft and already kinda worn looking – ideal for summer schlepping, when you don’t want to look too crisp. Plus, it’s a nice change from shorts. Summertime, you know.
It’s got pockets with snaps on the bum which I normally wouldn’t buy (I don’t need anything accentuating the junk in this trunk, you dig?) but I’m not about to remove them or anything. One of my foxes says it’s the best thing about this skirt on me. Well. Bedonk-bedonk!
And did I mention it was on sale? I never would have paid full price for this everyday, schlumpy skirt, and I’m glad I didn’t. But man, do I ever love it!
sage cotton knee-length skirt – Le Chateau, $69.99 $19.99
black t-shirt – Forever 21, $8
straw cowboy hat – Winners, $14
flip flops – you know… cheap as chips

I think I need to try on more dresses… the proportions never seem to work for me in an off-the-rack frock. I wish though!
Thanks for thinking me funky, Retro Gal!! (Thats an AWESOME way to go – adorable dresses paired with fetching shoes and BAGS!!)

You really are far too funky a mama for me, you know. Stunning, though.
I’m all about dresses in the warm weather, so I’ve heard more than once this summer that I’m looking a little retro! Which is totally cool with me.

Idas, youll just have to come shopping in Montreal then, wont you?! (Also, check the LC on Queen near Spadina = magical)
I wanted to be two (or four) inches taller also. 5 feet 4 inches is, like, my dream.
And which FB thread do you mean? I have two Greggs in my life… both completely filthy, cheeky bums. In the good way. *waggles eyebrows*

Thanks SO MUCH, Julie! Seriously, Ive been slightly worried that people might think be both totally gauche, and also a complete cheapskate when I talk about the price of things, but really, its just a way of demystifying stuff, you know? Not that my stuff is so fab… but I figure with all the savings, I can buy the things I REALLY want. Like diamonds. And candy. And a pony. 😉
Thanks for always reading, lady!!

Thanks, lady!

Very pretty…(thinking of heading over to a local LC however likely not the stuff fashionable Montrealers get… bah). I remind me of my favourite first-pair-of-jeans-that-fit, when I was an early teen. Had that extra vertical seam, totally works it. Especially when I stopped growing at 13years old at 5ft 4″ and was dying to be just two inches taller.
I was lurking on your FB girlie and your banter with Gregg is the stuff of a sitcom.
Wickedly cheeky.

yes, yes, yes, love, love, love… 🙂
seriously though, i was thinking about this since your last post. you know the magazines that say get this look for cheap! and then they show you the cheap $125 skirt and the DG flipflops on sale for $45 and the bling from the local designer for $85 (cuz you MUST have it) blah blah blah…they disappoint me like no other since my clothing budget for a year is usually that $125.
you are truly doing it right and real and i sincerely love what you are showing us!
