I dig stripes about as much as I dig ruffles… because I love texture over colour, I guess.
While my sister was here visiting a few weeks ago, she spied this top and told me to buy it. Soft stretchy cotton with long sleeves – ideal for rounding out these dog days of summer, when the air gets a bit cooler, especially at night. Even more ideal? When your mother (who was also visiting) insists on paying for your purchase. Gee, thanks mum!
I like the generous scoop in the neckline, and the stripes are narrow enough not to become all distorted and wonky in the boob area, which is a factor when correctly wearing stripes, you see. Zero boob-wonkage, yet still shapely enough to make you feel like Brigitte Bardot, or something. Also super cute paired with white shorts. It’s still summer, after all.
Striped long-sleeve in black and cream – Dynamite, $17
white jeans – Only Jeans, $45

I’ve loved stripes since I was a teenager. I don’t wear them all the time, but I do own a number of striped t-shirts/cotton shirts. When you find one you love, it’s so satisfying. Since some of my favourite ones have worn out, I’m still on the look-out for a new love. This one on you is a winner. You look like a model in a fashion catalogue.
