Who would have guessed that the BEST social event of the week was going to hosted by Ford Canada? The invitation for last week’s soiree stated..wear your best blue outfit, you’re invited to an exclusive event at the Liberty Grand. FABULOUS!
…except I didn’t own anything blue! (thank you MEXX for coming to the rescue!)
I was thinking..this is going to be another one of those “nice” corporate events of schmoozing and tell me all about blah blah blah…BUT WAIT…
We entered into the event space and were greeted by the gatekeepers (they were serious… no party crashers!). We checked-in and were distracted by the Blue Candy Bar!
Entering the party zone we definitely felt like “kids in a candy store”. The large space was washed in glittery blue with the crowd buzzing around grooving to the heavy beats of DJ JR FLO. We were immediately handed blueberry martinis (created by Cocktail Deeva, of course!) and then wondered if we had clicked our heels and somehow landed ourselves in a swanky nightclub in Vegas. Get the vibe?
This was no ordinary car unveiling. This was clearly a night of SIZZLE. Excitement was in the air and as each car was unveiled the crowd cheered louder!
I actually learned a few things at this event about Ford, like how they teamed up with MIT researchers and found that drivers are less stressed when using their Active Park Assist system. Cool! I’m going this weekend to the Autoshow to get more info on the new ESCAPE. It has this option plus advanced safety features like the available Blind Spot Information System. Ford has also given the ESCAPE a fresh new look inside and out!
The Ford people also had fun with the Twitterati in and outside of this party. #FordQuestions were fun asking us questions like “What’s the most embarrassing thing you’ve done in a car?” (…see, it is Vegas!)
I texted my boys at home who anxiously awaited my photo uploads. My boys are BIG car fans. BIG. So, they were OVER THE MOON when I sent the unveiling shots of the Shelby GT500. So many cars! The 2013 cars were scattered around the event space like centre pieces. The ESCAPE, TAURUS SHO, and FOCUS ST were also unveiled and the crowd happily posed and caressed each car as they mingled about.
Ford Canada really wanted the guests to enjoy themselves. I can’t remember the last time I was at an event that offered so many activities -it was like an adult version of a kid’s birthday party! Women were treated to getting their nails done (in varying shades of blue, natch) and blue hair accents were offered. Guests could also partake in a game of Foosball or drive remote control cars in races against each other! There was no shortage of food & drinks either!
Thanks to Ford Canada for including UrbanMoms.ca at this great event!
You’re sexy and you know it!
BTW… there was a prize for the “best dressed”. We think these guys should have won with their own custom made shirts.
