My niece is super excited about the upcoming production of THE WIZARD OF OZ. Like many of you, she was following CBC’s Over the Rainbow competition in search for the star of the show, DOROTHY! Well, after 16 episodes, it was finally announced that Danielle from La Salle, Ontario will be stepping into those ruby red shoes! She’s already in intense rehearsals with the all-Canadian cast of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s new production set to take centre stage on December 20th with Mirvish Productions.
While she’s getting ready for her debut, a spectacular Yellow Brick Road is being built in the Yonge Street lobby of the Ed Mirvish Theatre for the launch of the production in support of The Hospital for Sick Children.
You can join others to help build the Yellow Brick Road by contributing a brick! There are 290 bricks left with a deadline of end of day Thursday, December 6th!
Each brick is a suggested donation of $20.00 CDN with all proceeds in support of SickKids. What a great idea! Here’s the link for donations: THE YELLOW BRICK ROAD IN SUPPORT OF SICKKIDS
“We are very grateful to the Ed Mirvish Theatre and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s new production of THE WIZARD OF OZ for supporting SickKids.” says Paula Menzes, Director, Sponsorship and Cause Marketing at SickKids. “Partnerships like this help to raise critical funds for the hospital and allow us to continue to provide world-leading care for our young patients and their families.
Tickets to the show are currently on sale for dates starting December 20th to January 6th at www.mirvish.com/shows/thewizardofoz
