It’s almost that time…the season of holiday parties. I LOVE going to holiday parties! The festive spirit, good friends, and great food…so much fun. And party season is fast approaching…hurray! In my opinion, what really makes a great party is having something a little different. Maybe it’s the festive décor or maybe some great holiday baking but why not make your signature feature some unique holiday themed drinks at the bar.
This past weekend was F.U.N.! Wanna know why? Well, thanks to our Girls’ Night host, Baileys Irish Cream, and our Kitchen Party host, Cuisinart, Elizabeth and I have been hard at work creating, testing and sampling some hot holiday drinks…with some help from a few of our friends and family of course. Want to spice up your party? Check out these fun holiday drink recipes as well as feedback on each one.
First, we tried the Baileys Shiver. I had made it in the summer so had perfected the blending. We all enjoyed it with a little of the new Mint Chocolate flavoured Baileys too!
Next, we tried the Mint Chocolatini. Now this drink was a definite crowd pleaser. A twist on the classic martini and a great way to start off any evening!
Next, we warmed up with the Baileys latte. We tried it with the new flavours as well but we were divided on which was the fave.
Finally, my favourite…are you ready? Believe it or not out of all the yummy cocktails my top choice is still Baileys on Ice. But now I like to mix things up a bit and I have modified my fave by using Baileys with a hint of Caramel instead of the classic. Either way, it is delicious…and simple to make!

Practiced making the egg nog last night. It was yummy. I am going to serve it this weekend along with 2 of my favourite holiday cocktails, “Gingerbread Man”:
1 part Baileys
1 part Goldschlager
1 part butterscotch schnapps
1 part vodka
Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and strain into shot glasses.
And “Peppermint Stick”:
creme de cacao, white 1 1/2 oz.
peppermint schnapps 1 oz.
cream 1 oz. (light)

I LOVE holiday parties too, Jen! I just checked out all of the recipes and am going to do the Mint Chocolatini and the homemade egg nog at my party in two weeks. Along with the desserts from last week I’m pretty much doing a Baileys theme!
