Featured Mom Business: Imaginative Spark

Once again, the urbanmoms.ca team is thrilled to be able to bring you the story of a mom-turned-entrepreneur. As with so many of these amazing stories, this one started with a mom making something for her own child in order fill a void she found in the marketplace. This week, Taira’s story:

Toronto-based artist Taira Liceaga found that there was very little original artwork available for children’s rooms and began creating some of her own to decorate her daughter’s nursery. Inspired by children’s themes and building upon her experience as a professional artist for over 15 years, she launched Imaginative Spark, a creative studio specializing in original art for children. Her coordinating series make it easy for parents to incorporate real artwork and contemporary style into children’s rooms. All work is hand painted to delight young and adults alike and created around themes that spark young imaginations, such as butterflies, sea creatures, paper toys, insects, fire trucks, trains, etc.
