It’s all about fashion this week in Toronto. The Toronto World MasterCard Fashion Week not only showcases top designers in apparel but also what will be new next spring in home interior design. Last night the KORHANI Home runway show was well attended with the “who’s who” of the media and the socialites lining the catwalk.
Kirsten Korhani, chief designer and creative director of the international company continues to blur the lines between fashion and home, showcasing beautiful garments made from the company’s rugs and accessories.
In the packed fashion tent last night KORHANI revealed bold and daring designs that had one thinking “I could actually wear that!” The structured and elegantly designs were stunning!
“We are always looking to push the boundaries where home interiors can be hanged easily
and affordably.” said Kirsten Korhani. “This collection is one of my favorite collections with beautiful paletttes and incredible textures drawing inspiration that spans the globe and draws from various style eras.”
“KORHANI Home has always been inspired by the world of fashion and we are honoured to show our Spring/Summer 2013 home collection alongside other talented designers.” says Moji Korhani, Owner, KORHANI Home.
Themes of this year’s runway show included: Belle du Jour – a nod to romantic Paris; Puttin’ on the Ritz – glam of the Art Deco era of fun and glitz of the 1920’s; and Tropical Paradise – with vibrant colours and vintage inspired prints of the Caribbean.
Although the dresses are unique to the runway only, the rugs will be available at major retailers across Canada in spring 2013 including (and suprisingly to me) Canadian Tire, Walmart, and Loblaw.
