Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy!

February 1, 2008 by Jen

As my seven year-old would say.

That’s just how the first real cleanse day was for me.

Yes…I’m just as stunned as you are to hear it! A day where you drink four glasses of cleansing juice, interspersed with special Isagenix snacks and the odd pair of almonds (yes, the massive two-almond snack is still going strong!)

But really…today I felt unstoppable. I was strangely optimistic, actually. I just felt like I had a positive overall outlook on life. Was it the Isagenix? Was it the fact that the temperature had finally gone up (to -10) and the sun was shining? Maybe one or the other…maybe both. Either way, I’m not complaining.

But I know you want to know…how was it to go a whole day with no food at all? Not that hard, in the end. The juice tasted pretty good, and what with the special Isagenix snacks (actually, I have to say these little nuggets of what seems like pressed shake powder are not all that special, but I hear the Isadelight chocolate is to die for), almonds and water at regular intervals, I never had a chance to get all that hungry. Coach Steve advised me I could enjoy vegetables on a cleanse day, so I did eat a bunch of snap peas, a few grape tomatoes and one baby carrot this evening while enjoying a bit of a get-together with some gal pals. Plus, there was this yummy "Want More Energy?" drink that I really, really enjoyed.

On top of the optimism, though, I noticed a couple of other benefits today on Isagenix:

  1. I did my weekly grocery shopping, and it cost all of $38.00. Of course, when you’re not eating all that much food (zero meals today and tomorrow, one meal on the five remaining shake days) you don’ really buy much! I got stuff for my kids, more chicken breasts and a lot more veggies. That’s it. No crackers, no chips, no cookies, no meat, no frozen meals…that’s a savings of at least $120 per week.
  2. I have already lost weight! Just two days ago I weighed in at 176.8, and this evening, I tipped the scales at 175.4! That means in just over a day I dropped 1.4 pounds. And here’s the photographic evidence:

I’m heading off to bed now, energized and looking forward to tomorrow!

Jen, one of the benefits that Isagenix coaches will tell you is that you actually SAVE money, because the Isagenix products cost less than your groceries would have. I don’t know the exact cost, but it’s waaaay less than $300 a week. More like $300 a month, perhaps, which is less than my groceries cost.

Any idea of how the cost of the Isagenix would counter the savings at the grocery store? I had a friend who was doing a different cleanse, and was spending $300 a week on the products for she and her husband. Great news on the weight loss and the positive outlook, though!
