Packing lunches is not my favourite. It can be boring and mind-wracking at the same time, trying to assemble a spread of healthy, yet tasty, choices for you kid to eat.
But I have found something that makes lunch-packing just a little more fun: the Goodbyn lunchbox.
It is perfect! I don’t have to fumble for the misplaced lids of 50 random little tupperware containers, and I don’t have to blow a wad of cash buying pre-packaged cracker pouches since I can just toss the goods right into the handy, perfectly-sized compartments. LOVE IT!
And, here’s the good news! Because I’m feeling generous, and because I want you to have as good a lunch-packing experience as I am, I am giving away a Goodbyn Lunchbox to one lucky reader. The winner will be able to pick whatever colour/style she likes (up to a $29.99 value).
All you have to do is leave a comment and tell me the best thing you pack in your kids’ lunchbox. Contest will close on November 23, 2011.
Happy lunching!
(This is not a sponsored post. I am paying for the prize with my own allowance.)

Homemade fruit jello–frozen fruit, a bit of juice and unsweetened gelatin whirred up in the blender. Real flavors – yum!
Natalie says
I know I missed the giveaway, but I love the idea of these containers and I just purchased one for my son! I hope it saves me time and money! The code really helped me make the purchase, because the cost + shipping would have been a bit much for me!!! Thanks for sharing!
Jessica L. says
soup and apples. Boring but delish!
Jenny says
Makenna loves one of Nana’s fresh buns with butter and cinnamon sugar.
Tanya says
Caoimhe’s favorite is hard boiled eggs, she wants them all the time! Please pick me!!
Marla says
my daughter eats tonnes of peanut butter. not sure what we are going to do when she goes to school π whatever i pack would look great in that cute lunch box though, i’m sure!
Karen says
cheez whiz sandwiches. (at least they’re not on white bread – don’t judge me!) π
Angela says
That would be perfect for Katie- I too hate packing lunches for school and we are only with the first one in grade 1. Maybe it’s because usually half her lunch comes home even though she decides what she wants. But she does love it when I put little cheese chunks and roll up her meat and put in toothpicks so she can eat them like “samples”. She’s also big on fruit in her lunch so she has at least 2 a day in there.
Vicki says
So. I detest packing school lunches. I’m in year seven and just now realizing that I should be making my kids help me pack (that way THEY choose so they can’t complain). It’s made a HUGE difference with the older kids. Littleest one eats nothing, so I’m hooped there. One cannot live on goldfish crackers alone, am I right? And the peanutbutter ban (I know it’s necessary but I’m complaining anyways) had been a bummer for my pb sandwiches and pb and bananas – sucks to lose an entire protein when coming up with ideas.
Fishy crackers go a long way in my house. Mixed w. raisins, dried fruit and sometimes the occasional chocolate chip.
Wraps – all kinds are fabulous.
Newest fun idea – healthy cereal and milk in a thermos – great for older kids.
And that lunchkit is awesome – it literally has my girl’s name on it:)

When I get a chance to surprise Shyla with a packed lunch, I’ll throw in an assortment of fruits, veggies, a yogourt tube and whatever else I can find thats easy.
Julianne Wiebe says
That is such a neat lunchbox! We pack crackers and cheese and frozen peas in lunches. And other stuff.
Emily says
Not sure if you’ll accept overseas entries π But it looks awesome! I hate all the different containers that have lids that don’t fit too. Claire is a grape nut. Loves them. And raisins. As far as she is concerned raisins are candy. Seeing as I don’t let her have candy. If I feel generous enough to give her raisins she has a little fit of excitement!
Natalie says
My son LOVES trailmix. I don’t buy the premade stuff but make it myself. It’s a great source of protein and it’s fun!
Alicia says
Me me me!
Jody says
That is the coolest thing ever!
i almost always throw an apple in the bag π
Stephanie Parnell says
My daughter loves PB&J, Edamame, and Peaches for lunch.
Mary says
Wow! That looks awesome! My son is a big veggie eater, so we usually do lots of broccoli and carrots with ranch dip, pb&j (grape only, thankyouverymuch), maybe a slice or few of cheese and either a banana or grapes. Now I’m hungry!
Sarah says
Is it wrong to say ‘a banana’ because it’s the easiest thing to pack? π
Jill says
I hate packing lunches too but I love that my kids want me to send healthy stuff. I usually do chicken wraps or mini bagel sandwiches π
Susan says
We like make-your-own sandwiches- bread (or crackers), turkey, cheese, all separate. For some reason doing it herself makes all the difference…
Kristie says
Cubes of cheese along with Triscut stick crackers for poking into the cheese π
Carla says
Cantaloupe is a favourite when it’s in season – that and a homemade chocolate chip cookie!
Tania says
Oh my gosh, these are so cool! I just checked out their website and am so getting a couple! My children’s school is on the Balanced Day system so the smaller ones would work perfectly! And then I would not have sooooooooo many little containers to wash (we like litterless lunches) and save me from dishpan hands, lol.
Laura says
Pumpkin seeds & cucumbers are my kids absolute favouries
Jane says
One random day a week I pack one little hershey kiss for my son.
Kim says
I pack the normal (for him) fare.. 3 veggie chicken nuggets, string cheese, cut up fruit, a carb like crackers, water, but the BEST thing I pack is 2 jelly beans. I hide them somewhere in his lunch, and he knows they are there.. and he just LOVES IT. They’re two tiny little ways to make him smile when I’m not there. π Cheeeesay!
Nataliya says
A little drawing and “I love you” note.
Jacqui says
My daughter is crazy for Asian pears. She also loves the organic graham bunnies (Annie’s I believe). She’s a picky eater and it’s usually a struggle to find something healthy.
Deanne says
Cheese and crackers are a family favorite!
Caitlin Hill says
Oh I want one!!!! My kids don’t go to school yet but we take a lunch bag when running errands or traveling. Got to have a place for juice boxes and 8,000 goldfish!
Angela Shymanski says
LOVE LOVE LOVE these lunchboxes. I found them while perusing for ‘bento’ styled lunch boxes. I’m a little obsessed with little toothpick hats, ‘grass’ separators and edible food markers. Favourite things to pack include sandwiches cut into shapes ( LOVE the animal cookie cutters from IKEA) with little faces drawn on with the wilton food writers, grape and cheese skewers. Pick me and I’ll do a thank you/ guest post with adorable photos!!! ( pretty please with a hat topped cherry on top!)
Abbey says
Pick me! Pick me!
My kids would love this lunch box (almost as much as I would). If I win, I’m going to have to buy at least one more (for now). π
My kids LOVE fruit in their lunch. Grapes, and banana’s are their favorites right now. They also love the “oh so healthy” packaged cheese and crackers/bread sticks. They get those every once in awhile.
CrystalM says
ooooh! this would make lunch packing a little more fun. Also, we’re on our third lunch bag this year because of the leaky grossness that comes with daycare just putting the empty tupperwares back in the lunch bag for you to wash at home. I should’ve just bought one of these to begin with! Right now my daughter’s favorite is a hard boiled egg!
Amy A says
My daughters love any kind of fruit. I would love to have one of these; it would make separating their food so much easier; they hate it when their food touches!
Teresa says
That lunch box looks awesome! I’ve been drooling over them, since I found out about them at the beginning of the school year. So very cool.
Um, I’m the worst lunch-packer, for the pickiest girl on the planet. So, I don’t know what the best thing I pack her is. She always begs for noodles with butter, so I warm them up and put them in a thermos-bowl for her. And, that’s as creative as I get π
(But, in my mind, that will all change, and I will become a super-lunch-packer if I have a super-cool lunch kit to pack it in, lol)
Lindsay says
Well I don’t have kids to buy for but I pack my lunch every day for school. I love tortilla wraps. Quick and easy and good for my on the go
margie says
That lunchbox is so cute- it looks like it can be personalized with stickers by the little ones, too! I try to pack healthy, but I can’t lie- my son loves it when I pack him chocolate sundae pop-tarts! My sister introduced him to those so naturally that is his favorite thing right now. I am slightly embarrassed.
Dana says
Oh man, how awesome is this! Biggest pet peeve is trying to find the lids to the gazillion tupperware containers I have. This is PERFECT! Right now my daughter loves pretzel sticks, grapes and carrot sticks with hummus!
Tamara says
Love these! Liam has one, so just need one for Carys now. I love to pack treats with healthy stuff hidden in them, I try to get creative as possible…but sometimes need to check out Weelicious for great ideas! π
Blythe12 says
It is so true with the gazillion little tupperware containers in a lunch bag!! So, not only do I pack a sandwich, but there is also, cucumber and red pepper spears in one container; grapes in another; mandarin oranges in another; juiceboxes (sometimes two!), if not a sandwich, then ham and cheese cut up, and a cookie or cracker! And with three kids, that is a LOT of little containers, and some don’t make it home after the lunch day!
EM says
Wow! Everyone is so healthy. I really appreciate the kid who likes the hidden chocolate chips. I’m kind of wondering about the broccoli eaters…hmmm I wonder what she hides in the florets to get them to eat that? π Well, you actually don’t have to pick me, we home school so packing lunches is kind of moot, though they are over the moon when I stash their lunches in a lunch bag (that matches their back packs that we use for sports). I just wanted to say that my kids favourite lunch is deep fried wings! Dade especially likes gnawing on the bones! Gross, I know! I can hardly sit at the table while I watch my cute little carnivores pick at the poor little birdie wings. But hey, we’re wild and crazy like that. Neat lunch box. I’ll have to look at getting one for my niece for Christmas. I love that it won’t squish your banana.
Amy says
I don’t pack lunches yet, unless we’re going for picnics, then it’s “pb on bread”. I LOVE this lunchbox, though!
Bre says
My favorite thing to pack in my son’s lunch is a note from mom wishing him a great day. He’s 13 and I still put one in there every time I pack his lunch!
jocemom says
Baby carrots π
Danica Grunert says
That looks so cool. I also hate digging around for plastic containers.
We recently discovered Babybel cheese. My kids love the little individual rounds, even though I don’t buy packaged stuff very often. They keep in the fridge for a long time, so I use them as an occasional ‘special treat’ especially if my kids need an extra hit of calcium that day. So fast – just grab and go. Good for rushed mornings.
Tianna Riemer says
I want it! I like to pack mandarin oranges. So easy to eat. I’m always sad once the season ends.
Alexa says
I’ve been wanting to get something like this for my daughter. Thanks for giving one away!
April Galbraith says
The best thing I pack for Micah is hidden chocolate chips in his trail mix. He gets so excited. I want to win!
Amber says
Love this idea!!! If i win, I will definitely need to buy one for the other mini π
Hmmmmmm, the best thing i pack in my kids lunches would probably be rollups….tortilla shell, ham and cheese or tortilla shell, cream cheese and cucumber or tortilla, sunbutter and banana….you get the idea. I cut it into bte sized pieces for Lex. π
Alyssa says
The best thing I always pack in my little man’s lunch is a note from mommy. Sometimes a little drawing or a joke, but always an “I Love You!”
Tara says
What a great giveaway! Those bento box type things are awesome. My favorite thing to pack is sunflower butter and jam rolled up in a brown rice tortilla. My daughter is gluten intolerant, so this works AND it’s big enough that I can cut it in half to split between the two kids. Yay for less work!
Theresa says
N’s lunchbox favorite is a bagel with cream cheese. Love the Goodbyns!
mrswilson says
That looks awesome. And significantly less expensive than that other one that’s flying around (I can’t remember what it’s called).
Sign me up!
Lisa Lu says
My kids LOVE grapes!
Denise says
I could sure use one of those seeing as how I have to pack lunches for Kirbey for the rest of her life and oh ya my fav thing to pack for her is my homemade granola bars!
Julie R says
My kids love broccoli (at least right now) so i take full advantage of that and pack it in their lunches MOST days. I also pack a banana for snack π I love these boxes and I’ve been wanting to buy them for my girls for a while now but they’re a little bit pricier than the $6 sacks I bought at walmart π What a great idea though.
Jen says
Oh, pick me! I was trying to decide between the Goodbyn and the Laptop lunch when Abby started grade 1 and ended up going with the Laptop. With Josie starting school next year I’d love a Goodbyn!
Abby’s favorite lunch is a whole wheat wrap spread with a little bit of herb & garlic cream cheese and then julienned veggies inside – carrots, celery, red peppers, cucumber.
