“I’m not happy about all this.”
“Not happy? I’m working. That’s what pays for our trips and our house and groceries and clothes and all the fun stuff.”
“But you should be here.”
Heart – wrenching – guilt.
97% of my life is taking care of, organizing, tending to and thinking about my children. So for 3 weeks, things have been a bit nuts. But that’s 3 weeks in their collective 14 years. Or 3 weeks out of 728. That’s 0.4% of their lives I’ve been actively working not within the framework of their activities. Do I get a break here? Dinner’s still on the table, hugs are given, lunches are made, jammies laid out and stuffies aligned, so when is it enough? When can I go to work without the guilt?
Apparently, never.
But I persevered because I was covering 3 shows tonight: Korhani, Pink Tartan and Joe Fresh. I continue to be amazed by the fashions both on and off the runway.
But mostly, I was distracted by this guy.
I’ll expound on it more later, but the guy models have been an absolute bust.
Except this guy.
I mean really, even in a group shot, who is your eye drawn to?
Exactly.
Now here’s a rear view.
And remember, from the Sahara to South Beach, all these outfits were made from carpets. Which reminds me, I have a room or 2 to remodel. Think he comes with??

Oy, the guilt. Press on, lady – you’re awesome at this.
I’m loving all these pics… and suddenly, I feel I need a patchwork carpet. Like, now.

Your family may not be happy, but I sure am….I’m loving experiencing Fashion Week through your lens and brain. You’ve offered such a unique and down-to-earth interpretation of the shows for us.
Can I share carpet dude with you?
