Detangler for Grown-Ups: IT EXISTS!

December 20, 2010 by Metalia

I’m going to be honest, I love my hair.

For about four months out of the year, in very specific weather conditions.

During most of the winter, it clings to my head in a sexy, sexy static bomb. (And in the humid summer months, it’s a limp, sad state of affairs, indeed. Springtime, man. That’s where it’s at!)

My dry, winter-static-stricken hair becomes especially prone to knots and tangles during this time of the year, which is just adding insult to injury, if you ask me. I’ve been, uh, stealing my kids’ Suave Detangler for a few years now, and while effective, it comes in a neon green bottle emblazoned with a bug-eyed cartoon octopus.

 I am 30.

I was trolling the aisles of my drugstore the other day, and came across a whole bunch of new Pantene products. One that caught my eye was the Silkening Detangler by Pantene.

It comes in three formulas –one for fine hair, one for curly hair, and the one for medium-thick hair — and costs under $4. Its light fresh-yet-unobtrusive scent is great, it works beautifully, and there are no anthropomorphic sea creatures on the bottle, shaming me. SOLD.

I use this on my kids’ hair! I can’t stand all that cartoon-y stuff on bottles, nor do I need my Littles to smell like papayas or cotton candy. It’s good product – especially for hair prone to rats-nesting overnight while one sleeps… 🙂

I hope I can get it in Canada – still haven’t found the lipgloss. Boo.

    Thanks for the tip!
I am finding that I’m getting a big matted mess at the back by my neck, underneath my hair where it brushes against my jacket, or turtleneck all the time. Ponytails aren’t a good option when a toque is necessary in the sub zero weather.
I will pick some of this up!
