Yesterday was the first day of summer holidays. We kicked off the season with a day trip to Centre Island. It’s one of my favourite things to do in Toronto.
We did it all: the rides, the wading pool, the beach, the train. We came home sandy, sunny and satiated. I LOVED having my kids with me the whole day and not having to drop or pick up anyone anywhere. I know some of our summer days will be fun, and some will just be. But I’m looking forward to a change in routine and some time to chill with my brood.
Here’s a pic of us returning on the ferry. Happy Canada Day!

I’ve never been there with kids. I’m for SURE going this summer when we’re on our vacay! Can’t wait!

today is our first camp day too – first real day of the “summer schedule”. I feel a bit out of sorts, but the shining sun is making it ALL GOOD! Enjoy it 🙂

You are so right, Christine. I didn’t even think of that. One of the reasons the day went so smoothly is because no one complained. Must be because all three kids had their own stuff that they loved to do there. And the ferry ride home is so peaceful. A great way to wind down.

The vay-cay already feels… long. Actually, we’re still trying to find our stride with camp and whatnot – this is the week to get things underway properly, I think. Wish me luck!!

It’s one of my favourite places to take my family. I love that there is something to entertain and occupy each of my kids at their various ages and stages.
I also love the routine of “no routine” – splash pad, park, beach, pool – where ever the day takes us – that”s where we go!

Thanks Honey! It was indeed magical – felt like a mini vacation, and great to come home to our own beds! How’s your vay-cay so far?

That rocks, lady. I miss Centre Island… if we make it to the Tdot this summer, we’ll have to go. Have a blast, Amreen!!
