Potato & Leek Pizza
Adapted from Foodland Ontario
Couch to Table in: 45 Minutes
Serves: 4
Ingredients:
3 tbsp olive oil
5 cloves garlic, peeled
5 button mushrooms
2 leeks (white and pale green part only)
2 teaspoons chopped rosemary

3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
4 medium Yukon gold potatoes, scrubbed
3/5 lb prepared pizza dough (recipe below)
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
2-4 ounces each Cheddar and Mozzarella cheese
1/2 teaspoon pepper
4 medium Yukon gold potatoes, scrubbed

2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
2-4 ounces each Cheddar and Mozzarella cheese
Preparation:
- Shred the cheeses to produce 1/2 cup each of shredded Cheddar (medium shred) and Mozzarella (fine shred).
- In the 11-cup bowl process the garlic, mushrooms, and leeks using the slicing disc set on 3mm thickness.
- In the 14-cup bowl process the potatoes using the slicing disc on the 1mm setting.
- In large pan, heat oil over medium-low heat; cook garlic, mushrooms, leeks, rosemary, salt and pepper, stirring, for 6 to 8 minutes or until mushrooms have released their liquid and leeks are tender. Toss potatoes in leek mixture to coat.
- Press dough onto 12 to 14-inch pizza pan; sprinkle with Parmesan.
Top with potato slices with mushrooms and leeks in overlapping concentric circles.
Sprinkle with Cheddar and Mozzarella. - Bake in 450° F oven for 20 to 30 minutes or until crust is crisp and potatoes are tender.
Pizza Dough
Adapted from Cuisinart
Ingredients:
1 package active dry yeast
1 teaspoon granulated sugar
2/3 cup warm water
1 2/3 cups unbleached, all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoons table salt
3/4 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
Preparation:
- In a 2-cup liquid measure, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Let stand until foamy, about 3 to 5 minutes.
- Insert metal blade in work bowl and add flour and salt.
With machine running, pour liquid through small feed tube as fast as flour absorbs it. - Process until dough cleans sides of work bowl and forms a ball. Then process for 30 seconds to knead dough. Dough may be slightly sticky.
- Coat dough evenly with olive oil; transfer to a plastic food storage bag and seal the top. Let rise in a warm place for about 45 minutes.
- Place dough on a lightly floured surface and punch down. Roll into desired crust sizes. Makes ¾ pound dough.

Veg – I need help chopping veggies, alot of them. My daughter and I are both on very restricted diets – no gluten, dairy,soy, egg or alot of nuts (or honey for me) and we eat ALOT of veggies, I in particular eat alot of salads for lunch, baked root veggie salads are my fav thing right now – they take alot of time to make. I make them for three days right now because they take about an hour of prep time! This could save me ages!

I would love to get help with chopping lemon grass. It’s so hard to cut with a knife, and my hand is so sore afterwards. I would bet that the Cuisinart would cut through the fibrous strands with no problems. Then, I could make fragrant lemon grass marinades.

I’m moving soon to a very rural area with no take out or delivery…! not that we use those things a lot , but I’m going to have to make my own indian and thai food now… and thai takes a lot of grinding and chopping as well does indian. This is one item along with a few more that is missing from my kitchen. I could really use it on a almost daily basis. I enjoy making soup and the chopping of the veggies is the slowest part of the process. This machine would be a God send.

I would love to make our own pizza dough. My three year old loves making pizzas and this would be much healthier than purchasing the pre-made shells. I would also love to make homemade salsa. It is one of my fave things and since joining weight watchers I make alot of my own food so I can calculate the points better.
It seems that on daily basis I use onions and garlic for a lot of things. Oh yes, would love to have cheese shredded or chopped up fine too in something that won’t take long to clean up.
The list is just too long to state but homemade salsa is something we love and it seems to take a bit too long to chop things for it when we are always in a hurry for a quick meal.

I would like to be able to chop up veggies nice and small to be able to incorporate them into foods so that my picky eaters 3 and 34 wouldn’t know that they are getting something healthy. Also i would like to make nice homemade organic baby food for our littlest family member!
My oldest daughter and I are on a very complex allergy diet, no gluten, dairy, soy, alot of nuts, peanuts, honey or egg – we eat ALOT of veggies and fruit in all sorts of ways. I love soups and this would help alot in prep time. I often make up a quiona salad or baked root salad for myself for three days as well and this would help with time in that to – I could SO use this lovely machine. And the size in my tiny kitchin would be great. Clean up is also a issue as I have no dishwasher, so that it is easy cleanup is lovely.

I have a very picky 5 year old, so I’ve become quite the magician when it comes to hiding veggies in her food! It’s alot of work chopping up all the veggies to make the purees and then add them wherever I can. She loves my mac’n’cheese – which is mostly butternut squash and a tiny bit of cheese but she wouldn’t have it any other way – as long as it’s hidden!

I need help chopping onions, garlic. I also have a scary, cheap mandolin slicer which is getting dull and dangerous and I really should get rid of it. I like dehydrating fruits and veggies and this involves slicing them thinly before drying them so this processor would be very useful. I also bake bread daily and I am amazed you can mix dough in it.

I would love to win the Cuisinart because I need a great machine to chop up chickpeas nice and smooth for when I make hummus! Like it nice and smooth!

I would LOVE such a Cuisinart!! Our first was a hand-me-down also… then before our first child was born, we got a brand new version as a gift (to help making baby food and stuff) but it is a huge, heavy machine with all the discs and blades as you mentioned… I don’t lug it out very often. I’d use it for just about everything, I reckon!

I like chunky vegetable soups, but my kids seem to prefer them pureed. This contraption would do the trick. Seems to have fewer parts to wash — the amount of cleanup involved with our current older model Cuisinart disincents us from using it regularly.

I need help in the kitchen period! My husband is a gadget freak – with a chopper this sleek and easy to use he will be all over helping out at dinner time. That pizza recipe looks delicious by the way… Something to try next weekend.

Chilli! I love a good veg Chilli but it seems like it takes a lifetime to chop everything! This would make it a breeze!
As a mom to three very athletic boys two of them just hitting puberty its more and more important for me to feed them home cooked well rounded meals and that in my house means disguising vegetables as best as I can. I would use the Quisinart Elite Food Processor to help chop all of those vegetables nice and small to mask them in the homemade sauce or chicken pot pies that I have been making more of, hoping to keep their hunger at bay for more than an hour. Help a gal out 😀
I would like to help you chop up the cheese. Cheese is my least favorite thing to chop – I think it might be more fun to share the activity than do it alone.
