well lookie what we have here…
this arrived on Monday.
Isabella turns to my mom and says: "That’s Haydee’s bed!"
my mom: "No, Isabella, that’s YOUR bed!"
Isabella shakes her head, "No, Bubbie," and she points to her crib, "THIS is MY bed!"
uh oh.
Actually, in reality, it went WAY better than i’d expected. We went out for dinner with my parents and Haydee put her to sleep in her crib. She woke up when we came home, so she was already overtired. (i think this was the trick). We gave her some water and read her some books.
and she slept.
until 7:20 this morning.
when she called out to us…"mommy-o? are you dere? You better come and get me! look-a-me! i’m a princess! and a big girl! like Emily!"
and here’s the clincher. she doesn’t realize she can get out of bed on her own! SWEET. i always hoped i’d have a child that did this. Third time’s a charm, i guess.
Awwwww….so precious .. that sweetie pie!
So cute that she doesn’t realize she could get out by herself. Don’t tell her .. otherwise she’ll be coming to your room for the next two years!

Again, she is so damn cute! Congrats on graduating to the big girl bed!
I remember those wonderful first months in the toddler bed when the child didn’t realize he/she could get out without calling out for Mom or Dad!!! I think the secret to that is to go to the “big girl” bed before the child has become adept at escaping her crib.
Awwww…the big-girl bed. Gotta love it! Now, go and get rid of your crib before you’re tempted to fill it up again!

benjamin was a ‘cant get out of this bed’ kid for TWO YEARS. it was bliss. the linens are gorgeous.
