BRITNEY’S DAD SPEAKS OUT; AND, THE "REAL" REASON FOR BRIT’S HEAD SHAVE

According to Brit’s dad, Jamie Spears, Brit’s been a bad bad girl! It’s HER fault, and not her ex-manager, Larry Rudolf’s, fault that she is where she in terms of her children and her career. THAT’S NICE, Dad. Like Brit doesn’t have enough issues to deal with! Here’s what he said in an email to the New York Post:

When Larry Rudolph talked Britney into going into rehab, he was
doing what her mother, father and team of professionals with over 100
years of experience knew needed to be done. She was out of control.
Larry was the one chosen by the team to roll up his sleeves and deliver
the message, to help save her life.

The Spears family would
like to publicly apologize to Larry for our daughter’s statements about
him over the past few weeks. Unfortunately, she blames him and her
family for where she is at today with her kids and career. Larry has
always been there for Britney. For this, we will forever be grateful to
him.

Pshaw. What he says probably has some truth to it. But, it’s water under the bridge. Been there done that. Get over it, Jamie. Way to diss your daughter in order to stick up for her manager. Even if this is true, it’s a coward move.

Here’s what Brit’s rep told the paper in response to her sucky father:

I am praying for my father. We have never had a good relationship. It’s
sad that all the men that have been in my life do not know how to
accept a real woman’s love. I am concentrating on my work and my life
right now.

Way to take the high road, Brit. I don’t know about that "real woman" part, though. No, seriously? What the heck’s a real woman anyway? Ahh, whatevs, good luck with the work and life part, yo.

MORE BRIT GOSSIP: Was Brit, indeed on drugs? Why did Brit shave her head? One of Brit’s close friends reveals THIS to the New York Post:

[Britney] had no drugs in her system when she was admitted to Promises — they
[tested her] and there was nothing. She was embarrassed she had to go
in there when she knew she was suffering from postpartum depression,
not a drug or alcohol problem.

…Britney’s aunt had just died
of cancer. She was feeling very guilty because she hadn’t been there
with her, she was overwhelmingly depressed and she shaved her head in
solidarity.

Interesting…Very interesting. Did we not say HERE at CHEATY’S CELEBRITY GOSSIP that we knew it was POSTPARTUM DEPRESSION that Brit was suffering from all along? Was it not clear as crystal that it was POSTPARTUM DEPRESSION? Anyway, whatevs. Who knows what to believe. This is the first I’ve heard about the Aunt-dying-of-cancer theory of the shaved head. It makes (well, not a lot of) sense, but the act was still pretty wild and radical and rehab-worthy — and what about all the ensuing tattoo-inkage…? What do you think?

KIM BASINGER HIRES BODYGUARD TO PROTECT DAUGHTER FROM VIOLENT ALEC

Wondering why I never posted Alec Baldwin’s HIDEOUS outburst on his daughter Ireland’s voicemail? Because it was SERIOUSLY disturbing. And, there’s enough disturbing stuff going on in the world. You come here for fun and escape, so I stay away from this kind of stuff. I listened to Alec’s voicemail message to his young daughter (what is she…11!!!), and I was so saddened. I shut it off mid way. I’m sure you’ve heard it by now, but if you haven’t and you feel like hating Alec Baldwin, check it. In all of this, there IS a silver lining: we probably won’t see Alec hosting Saturday Night Live anymore — HALLELUJAH!

Anyway, as the above photo shows, Kim’s all concerned for Ireland’s safety. She’s afraid Alec will come after her. So, they’ve hired protection. I say, WOW, that is one TALL 11-year-old! Gorj….

ALEC’S WRITTEN RESPONSE TO IT ALL….

Here’s what Alec said on his website in response to the release of his vicious, abusive outburst on his daughter’s voicemail:

I’m sorry, as everyone who knows me is aware, for losing my temper
with my child.  I have been driven to the edge by parental alienation
for many years now. You have to go through this to understand.
(Although I hope you never do.) I am sorry for what happened. … I have
endured a great deal over the last several years in my custody
litigation. Everyone who knows me privately knows that certain people
will go to any lengths to embarrass me and to disrupt my relationship
with my daughter.

I am sorry for what happened.  But I am
equally sorry that a court order was violated, which had deliberately
been put under seal in this case. Although I have been told by numerous
people not to worry too much, as all parents lose their patience with
their kids, I am most saddened that this was released to the media
because of what it does to a child.

(In cases such as this) your
opponents attempt to take a picture of you on your worst day and insist
that this is who you are as a person. Outside the doors of divorce
court, I have friends, I have respect from people I work with and I
have a normal relationship with my daughter. All of that is threatened
whenever one enters a courtroom.

I’m sure he’s devastated by what transpired (his fault, but still). But, I don’t trust apologies in writing. Who knows who wrote this, how many expert PR consultants, agents, managers helped Alec cover all the bases. There are very good points here, but this written statement means nothing in the context of a VERBAL voicemail message. It just doesn’t do the trick. Kim Basinger is probably LOVING every minute of this. But, she shouldn’t be too proud of herself either, and Alec’s statement does bring her sordid part in this to BRIGHT light. Poor Ireland. Her parents desperately need to grow up, work together, and get some serious counseling.

ACCORDING TO THEIR REPS, BRAD AND ANGE ARE A-OKAY

In response to reports that the two were going to trial-separate while Ange was filming in Prague, Ange’s manager told Us Magazine that they "are together and very happy.
Pitt’s publicist seconded the comment, telling Us the following:

I responded to those two tabloids [Star Magazine and Life&Style Weekly]
with the correct information and they choose not to run it. There is
absolutely no trial separation….As a matter of
fact, Brad and the kids are traveling to Prague to be with Angelina
while she films her movie. Then they are both going to Cannes to
promote Oceans 13 and A Mighty Heart. After that, the whole family is going to Los Angeles for the premiere of Oceans 13 and then to New York for the premiere of A Mighty Heart .

So, there you go. You can’t believe everything you read. Should we believe this, though? Actually, I don’t care. I’m team Aniston, and I’m proud of it.

NAVEEN ANDREWS AND BARBARA HERSHEY?? WHERE HAVE I BEEN!?

Omigosh. I did not know this. I mean, I don’t know EVERYTHING. That is, not until NOW: Naveen Andrews and Barbara Hershey are an item! That’s right, Barbara Hershey from Beaches. So gorj…. Apparently, they’ve been on and off for a long time. They were off for a while because Naveen IMPREGNATED a girl in Hawaii, made out with another, etc., etc. Who knew he was such a horn dog…? I didn’t…. Anyway, Barb and Nav are back on. And, they’re HOTT!
