Two of my close friends just had new babies, and I wanted to get them something special. They live in Calgary, so it had to be something easily packable and not too big. My usual go-to for years, for new babies, has been Baby Gap, which I love. A new baby to buy for is usually a great excuse to go in there and admire all the gorgeous tiny outfits that are so precious and delicate.
But, last month I did a huge purge of my kids’ old clothes and toys. The transient nature of this phase of life became oh-so-apparent. The adorable clothes that I chose for my kids with so much care and love were only worn for a few months and then discarded by the growth spurt. I still love to dress my kids, but now buy less than I used to for that reason.
So, when choosing a gift, I wanted the following: something that will last, something personal, and something beautiful.
I found all of the above in the beautiful name plaques created by Lisa Edgar of Broody Hen Designs. Her work is impeccably creative and fun, and I loved gifting these plaques to our new friends.
