Summer’s here, and that means that ice cream season is in full swing! Recently the Go2Girlz paired up with Breyers to give fifty lucky members a Breyers Double Churn sharing kit, so they could experience Breyers’ three decadent new flavours with a few friends and loved ones.
Our testers were asked to sample Breyers Double Churn Dark Chocolate Velvet, Breyers Double Churn Banana Cream Pie and Breyers Double Churn Chocolate Cheesecake ice cream with some girlfriends or a special someone in their lives. Their sharing kits included ice cream bowls and spoons and three tubs of ice cream: one of each new flavour.
Sounds like a fabulous treat, but what did the Go2Girlz have to say? Well, everyone was thrilled to open their exciting sharing kit: “what a ‘sweet’ surprise,” says Michelle, mom of 2, “I happened to get my sharing kit the day I was set to host my book club. I put the chips and dip away and served Breyers Double Churn instead – needless to say, it was a ‘bestseller’ night!”
Some of our product testing panel decided to save their Breyers sharing kits for a romantic evening with their partner. Jennifer, mom of 1 told us about her night: “I surprised my husband with three bowls of Breyers Double Churn – one flavour in each bowl. Then we took turns sampling each flavour with each other and tried to pick a favourite. It was hard to choose, but in the end we agreed: Banana Cream Pie is our number one love!”
All our testers agreed that each of the new Breyers Double Churn flavours are rich and creamy in flavour, and they definitely live up to their decadent reputation. And it seems that these decadent flavours are not only for the grown-up set. Many of the Go2Girlz shared the new flavours with their children, and the Go2Kidz gave them their seal of approval, too. The best part is that the flavours are authentic, and not overwhelmed by sweetness or artificial flavours. The Banana Cream Pie ice cream tasted like real bananas – not banana flavour. “I think it would be possible to identify a favourite, but as a true chocoholic, I’d have to put my money behind the Dark Chocolate Velvet. I usually find chocolate ice creams to be a major disappointment, so I was skeptical about this one, but it really is excellent. Dark chocolates are really popular these days, and this ice cream captures that true cocoa flavour, while also living up to the word ‘velvet’ in its name.” Christine, mom of 2

After receiving the Breyers sharing kit, my kids and I did an ‘official’ taste testing…three bowls and they made little ballots which specified things like colour, creaminess, “yummy-ness” (?!), chunks, ‘want more’, etc. We were pleased with the creamy texture of the ice cream and each had a different favourite! Thanks for including us in your testing!
IT WAS SO NICE TO RECEIVE THIS PRODUCTS. THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE WAS SO PLEASANT AND I WAS EAGER TO GO BUY MORE ICE CREAM WHEN WE FINALLY FINISHED ALL THREE FLAVOURS. THE GREAT THING IS THAT WE USUALLY DONT FINISH ALL OF THE ICE CREAM AND END UP THROWING THE BOX OUT…..WELL NOT WITH THIS BRAND. GREAT EXPERIENCE!!!!
I was so excited to finally see some unique flavors of ice cream that you could buy at your local grocer. Even better was the taste of each of the flavors. The Chocolate Cheesecake really does taste like cheescake. It was wonderful. I haven’t tried the Banana Cream Pie yet, but I can’t wait to knowing that the taste is going to be out of this world. Thanks Breyers for giving us such great flavors along with an excellent creamy texture. Way to go.
wow, delicious, creamy, my whole family love love loved it!
i was very very happy when i got the package. what i did was to invite my parent over for an ice cream and daughters realy enjoyed them self and my husband liked it so much and because my family liked it i have already but six containers of the ice cream since then.infact breyers ice cream is the best of all ice cream in the whole wide world.
I absolutely loved the Banana Cream Pie flavour. So delicious and creamy with bits of pie “crust” thrown in. This was my favourite of all the flavours. The kids gravitated towards the chocolate cheesecake of course. Everyone was very happy.
We went out and go the ice cream the same day the kit arrived in the mail. And the ice cream dissapeared very quickly! I can’t believe how creamy the ice cream tastes. I agree with what others have mentioned, it tastes authentic, not like flavouring instead of actual ingredients. I love love loved the Chocolate Cheescake ice cream!! Who needs a cheesecake when you have this ice cream? It tastes like you are eating an actual cheesecake! I think I might have to go out and get some more….
This was a great treat. I scooped out one of each of the ice-creams for everyone in my family and they all loved them. My mum really liked the Banana Cream first than the Chocolate cheesecake, my dad really like the Banana Cream first than the Chocolate cheesecake, my husband liked the Banana Cream first than the Chocolate cheesecake, I really liked the Chocolate cheesecake first than the Banana Cream, than the Dark Chocolate Velet. My 3 year old son like the Dark Chocolate Velet. They were all really good but the Dark Chocolate was not that different from other chocolate ice-cream. We all think that everyone should try these ice-creams.
We were very excited to get this great package, we tried Breyers new flavors, and they were all such a huge success! The kids tried it, and of course fell in love with the chocolate flavor, and my gal pals and i had an ice cream pool party, it was great, the new flavors all got great reviews…yum yum yum!
Breyers Double Churn Natural Vanilla has always been my absolute favourite ice cream, but now I have three new flavours to try out. I’m thinking the Dark Chocolate Velvet will be next on my “must-try” list…
This was an amazing treat. I shared the Breyers with my book club, and it was the hit of the night. Personally my favourite is the Dark Chocolate – it’s so amazing! But all three flavours were fabulous, although I personally didn’t like the graham cracker ‘ribbon’ in the Banana Cream Pie flavour (but the banana part was amazing). I think it might have been better with chunks of crust instead of a ribbon of crushed crust stuff – the consistency was a bit sandy. I have already had to buy a new box of dark chocolate because my family and I are addicted now!
My children and I where so excited to receive the Breyers sharing kit. That same day I went out and got all 3 of the new flavours. These are by far the best ice cream my family has ever had! Easy to scoop, very creamy, great tasting and just amazing! I will def buy Breyers Double Churn in these flavours, other flavours and try any new flavours in the future. We got one of each flavour and on the first sitting all three of us had one scoop of each. YUMMY! Sadly, I am not a chocolate lover (I know, a woman who doesn’t like chocolate!!) but my husband said the Dark Velvet Chocolate was the first ice cream he has ever eaten that actually tasted like chocolate and not just coloured brown. I couldn’t get over how the Banana Cream Pie actually tasted like the real thing. Our daughter loves the Chocolate Cheesecake. Didn’t really get a review out of her, but she keeps asking for it at dessert time, so I am assuming two thumbs up 🙂 I plan to try all 12 other Double Churned flavours!!
