We could be beach bound in a week.
Here’s the offer.
My generous, lovely fellow Russian adoptive mom friend has invited Roman and I to tag along on her business trip to Barbados. Her and I adopted our kids at the same time and we live blocks apart from each other in the city. I would come along in a “nanny” capacity and take care of our kiddies (my 18 month old Roman and her 2 year old Daughter Nastia) while she is attending meetings and such for part of the day. Accommodations are covered by her company and I have enough travel points to cover the majority of the flight.
I have never attempted caring for two toddlers at the same time, let alone poolside. I think with enough flotation devices and possibly toddler leashes I could handle it but what if I lose my mind and their flip flops?
At the end of the day, once the kiddies are asleep, I can at the very least count on a quiet tropical cocktail on the balcony, breathing in the ocean air. That alone seem like argument enough to get packing.
So, Mama’s what would you do?

Go! Sounds like a great opportunity to escape the grey

YES! And I agree with Sara re. the beach instead of the pool. Unless the pool is salt water, steer well clear. Chlorine is SO bad for people. And the beach has more opportunity for play and diversion in a safe-ish place. There aren’t as many places to trip over and knock a delicate body part into hard cement! And getting yourself in the surf and sand will reboost all your electrons in your atoms, making you feel way better – Earthing, remember?
XOXOXO

If you’re at a good resort they may have a kiddie daycare that may give you some relief when you need it! Go! Go! Enjoy! That’s what friends are for!

yes the beach – I’d give up on pool but beach!!!!!!!!! you have to go. Do you have Roman’s papers???
Julie says
go! 🙂
the beach is a whole different world to a toddler and a bucket of sand will keep them entertained for hours…well, it happened with my kids i should say. even so, it’s a change of scenery!

This is a great opportunity to get away. Yes, it will be a handful but this will certainly help Roman interact with other children. You can also enjoy that that he is under 2yrs old and travelling for free. Go, enjoy and walk with tons of water wings and sunscreen.
