Combine my kids’ fair Irish skin with their active lifestyles and blatant disregard for life and limb…it adds up to legs that look like over-ripe bananas. They bump into chairs, tables, each other, stairs, playground equipment on a daily basis and their legs tell these stories in shades of black and blue.
When Zax’s Bruise Creams pitched me about their Kids Bruise Cream, I knew we were the perfect family of guinea pigs. Developed by a Canadian pharmacist with active children, the Kid’s Bruise Cream is a new addition to the original Bruise Cream lineup.
The product is made in Canada, and promotes the healing of bruises by treating the pain and inflammation. It’s a blend of natural ingredients, including Arnica which assists in the healing of bruises by decreasing swelling, and Witch Hazel which tightens stretched veins and restores blood vessel tone.
It didn’t take long before my son came home with a knee bruised from a basketball court collision, and my daughter came home with a bruise from….I’m not even sure from what.
In any case, we applied the Zax’s Kid’s Bruise Cream and the kids were pleased that it didn’t have a strong or stinky scent. The cream was moisturizing and soothing, and I appreciated that it was non-greasy and non-staining.
The suggested treament includes massaging gently onto affected area three times daily for children 2-11. I can’t get my kids to stay still for more than two treatments a day, but it does appear to help ease the pain of the bruise and speed its disappearance.
You can buy Zax’s Bruise Creams in drug stores across Canada.
