There she be, folks! My Belly, in all her glory. Things have really been a-growin’ ’round here and we just got back from a beautiful weekend away where we celebrated the wedding of my brother-in-law and his new bride. My husband and I farmed out the children and were able to spend two nights away at the beautiful resort overlooking the Okanagan Lake. The food was delicious, the company exquisite, and we got to SLEEP IN. It was heavenly.
The baby has been kicking up a storm lately, especially when I lie down on my side and try to go to sleep (a sign of things to come, perhaps, that as soon as I’m ready to rest she’s ready to rock ‘n’ roll?). I still can’t believe we’ve got more than two months to go before we’ll meet her, as I already feel so big, but I know the summer will fly by and she’ll be in our arms before we know it.
This weekend away, without the children, will be our last getaway for a very long time once there’s a new baby in the house. Did you go on a “babymoon” and enjoy a special trip with your significant other before your child was born? Did you have a great time, or were you too big/nauseated/bloated/hormonal to enjoy it?

No, we didn’t. It didn’t even occur to us the first time around, we were frankly too preoccupied with paying off as much of our debt as possible before we became parents to give travel a second thought. Then before our second it just wasn’t possible to get away, we don’t really have anyone willing to take the kids overnight. I guess there will be lots of time for travelling down the road!

Hubby and I went to Puerto Vallarta for a week at 7 months preggo. Tip for going on a babymoon…
#1 – request a room on the main floor OR near an elevator, those stairs damn near killed me.
#2 – Keep well shaded and remember the sunscreen! An overheated Mommy2be is not a great feeling!
#3 – ENJOY the rest and relaxation and don’t try to do too much. A float in the pool is great!

we took a break from our house building/ living with my parents/ in a motorhome etc and went to mexico at 32 weeks ( the last possible point that my DR would approve a flight/ foreign holiday). it was exquisite! i still threw up daily, but we had a great time. relaxing…. feeling weightless in the water. still felt/ looked small enough to wear a cute 2 piece ( just before the terrible stretch marks hit) and to spend some ‘alone time’ before baby….. ahhhh….. the next holiday to mexico should be interesting with a baby in tow!~

You look fantastic and glamorous! We never had an official ‘babymoon’, I was too busy working and going to my 101 pregnancy appointments because of being diabetic and pregnant.
I had great intentions and visions but the days just passed and *poof* the baby showed up at 36 weeks! However, in lieu of a babymoon we did celebrate our first year of parenthood by going to Maui just the two of us.
Can’t wait to see more pictures of your belly!!

We just went to a B&B for a night away. I was probably 30 weeks along. It was nice to be away. I wish it was longer…now that our baby is 1 1/2 and we’ve only been away one night!!!

Totally. We went to Hawaii when I was 25weeks pregnant with boy #3. We knew it would be a LONG time before we’d ever get 5 nights away again. I wasn’t too large or uncomfortable to enjoy it, but didn’t feel too confident in the wavy ocean as I was worried of scraping along the sand floor (so off balance)…so I will definitely need to go back. Glad you had a chance to get away. You looked lovely!
