Thatcher and Tanner are happy the others are going back to school!
Usually once a holiday has ended and the children get back to school I am estatic, jumping for joy and way to happy to see them off to school! Holidays typically bring a lot of boredom (I can’t continually entertain 8 children), bickering, and chaoes in this household – but this holiday something was different.
No I am not talking about the virus that everyone got, but something really strange. Yes my children were bored at times (because all their new stuff lost its novelty by the time boxing day hit!) but they barely fought. Really weird.
Don’t get me wrong we still had some bickering and few fists flying, but for once this was a pretty peaceful holiday.
The one thing that I most enjoyed was the lack of running around. Sure there were some auditions, and Marie had to train but there wasn’t the same crazy rush after school ends in getting them fed, changed and back out the door, into the van and rushed off to some activety. What a difference! It made me realize just how crazy busy we are and it is only 4 out of the eight that actually do extra activities! What I will do once all 8 are involved is beyond me.
One thing we worked on was the never ending battle of the playroom! OMG since last October it has been in a state of complete and utter chaoes!! The children decided to make a mess (something they have really mastered) while “looking” for something in there. Ryley was my main helper and after 4 days of hard work we have managed to put it back into a state of order, and even managed to set up a mini hockey area! Big hit with the boys thats for sure.
So tomorrow it is back to the busy crazy schedules and for once I wished they had another week off school…….
What about you? Are you glad the holidays are over or wish you had some more time?
Until next time,
