Are You An Over-Styler?

February 28, 2012 by Sonya

look19-1.jpgMy BFF goes for blow-outs probably twice a week at the local blo-bar. She loves her hair to be perfect and between work and her 3 kids she simply cannot find the time to do her own hair. Then there’s me. I would LOVE my hair to be perfect all the time but I’d rather save my $$ and do it myself.

Raise your hand if you’re with me…do you use a hairdryer, curling iron and/or straightening iron ALL THE TIME? …I do.
But when I do my own hair I must admit that I KNOW that I’m doing damage especially to the ends. I KNOW because when I visit Damian (my salon husband) he’ll do the “tsk tsk tsk” sound and will trim off the damaged ends.
I AM GUILTY of knowingly overworking my hair on a daily basis. You hear that crunching sound? …right, that’s my hair. Why don’t I do anything about it? Honestly, I tried a few very popular products out on the market that supposedly helps but I find they just weigh my hair down and leave me with that “greasy, I need to wash my hair again” feeling.
I received an invitation for the launch of two new hair products from John Frieda. I was curious and I’m always game to try new things. I swear Alain, the Creative Director for John Frieda Canada was talking straight at me the entire time…he had those “you’re exactly who needs this” kind of look in his eyes.
I’m not prepared to change the way I style my hair but if these products help keep my hair healthy… it seems like a no brainer!

The FULL REPAIR STYLE REVIVAL Heat-Activated Styling Spray actually repairs while you style. The technology advancement in this product claims to offer the styling power while preventing, and reversing heat damage.
When I got home I was anxious to try this out. So far so good! It definitely makes my hair feel more manageable, keeps the hold but not heavy. I’ll use the curling iron tomorrow to see what happens because it will apparently continue to repair even the next round of using a heat-styler.
The FRIZZ-EASE SHEER SOLUTION is specially formulated for fine to medium hair. Almost every hair type suffers from the frizzies (not just course or curly). Now John Frieda has introduced a formula light enough to treat even the finest hair without weighing hair down.

The two new products will be available starting this month at grocery stores, drug stores and mass market retailers across Canada.
Visit their website for some great styling tips (like how to achieve the look in the above picture) and to learn what products are best for your hair type!

You’re lucky!!! I like a little curl in my hair when I go out and sometimes I like it perfectly straight so I’m all over the map with my hair! I honestly am in love with the Full Repair Styling Spray. It’s doing what they say it does!
