Hi Ladies – thanks for your comments and questions. I hope the following will answer them.
First, flat shoes – like any fashion item, if it doesn’t suit you or you really don’t feel comfortable – don’t wear it. If you don’t feel good, you’re not going to look good. And, for those who don’t love flats (moi included – hey, I just report on the trends) here are some great seasonable replacements with the same style/feel. Check out these heeled ballet shoes from Aldo and Payless (btw – the Payless versions are around $20! Sometimes, it’s not worth spending much on something that’s going to be a one season wonder.)
Bag it – Ali asked about great bags that can transfer from work to home – here are some ideas that are not as huge as those featured below and are great for Spring and Summer. In order, a wicker-wonder from Payless can transition from office to park; white bags are hot – this classy version is from Banana Republic and for a punch of red hot style – here’s a great option from Aldo.
And, when it comes to sunglasses – if you’re not spending a lot – have fun – do try trendy versions – large, blingy and white – whatever suits you and feels good. Just make sure that you are guaranteed the necessary eye protection. When it comes to prescription sunglasses, I would recommend going for a modern classic (you’re going to be wearing these for a couple of years, at least, so don’t go too trendy). Here are a few ideas from Bolle. And, when you go shopping take along a friend who will give you an honest opinion on what suits you best. Also, take a look at style guidelines such as those found at http://www.lenscrafters.com as a starting point.
Hairband head-ache – yep, as per Haley-O if you love the hairband look but find that this season’s hottest accessory pinches your brain, try tying a scarf (not too tightly) around your head instead (another very key look for this Spring and Summer.)
Until next time – have fun transitioning your wardrobe from winter to spring.

Katie! THat’s awesome. Thanks for the suggestions, and, yeah, higher heeled ballet shoes might be good for the wide-footed among us. I have to try the scarf idea!
