And They Will Be THE ROYAL WE.

November 16, 2010 by Unknown

Because everyone loves a Royal Wedding, Prince William and Kate Middleton have done us a favor and FINALLY decided to tie the knot. And their happy engagement, which actually took place last month on a trip to Kenya, was announced, interestingly, on Twitter.

“The timing is right now. We are both very, very happy,” he says.

Prince William has given his fiancée his mother’s ring. “It’s very special to me. As Kate’s very special to me now, it was right to put the two together.” The diamond and blue sapphire ring was originally given to Diana, Princess of Wales, by William’s father, Prince Charles in 1981. He adds, “This was my way of making sure that my mother didn’t miss out on today.”

Prince William and Kate Middleton’s forthcoming nuptuals… it’s bad enough I’m forced to stump up for the bloody thing through my taxes, I don’t want to be forced into watching it too – it’s all over the news everywhere! There’s no escape!

As for dreams of marrying Prince William, I had my heart set on being his nanny (I officially feel old, now).

I can’t WAIT for this wedding!!!
I really hope they have some type of nod to Diana during the ceremony. I really love Kate however, just like Amanda, I was supposed to have married Prince William. Sigh.

I’m over the moon… and excited for a happily-ever-after story for the House of Windsor, once and for all.
I think Diana would have loved this new lady… I hope they’re optimism for the future lasts forever.
Really. That’s my wish for them. It’s bound to be a difficult road in many ways… good for them.
    Beaming!!

It is interesting in a day and age where our rulers are so heavily criticized that we are still so captivated by Royalty. I, personally, think it is divine!

Oh yes! My grandparents were here from Belfast when Charles and Di married. We set the alarms, steeped the tea, made a fry and watched the wedding.
I was also up with the sun for her funeral. And I cried.
I wonder how much all of my “Royals” books from the 80’s would be worth now?

My mom was always convinced that I would someday marry Prince William. I guess that ship has officially sailed. 🙂

Absolutely!!!! and I wept at the ring…I love that she has it. You know Di would have loved her. And I’m with Jen. I also have such a special memory of Di (and Chuckles) with my mom…we shook their hands in Ottawa…she was even more beautiful in person….
Hmmm maybe an UrbanMoms viewing party????

London is 7 hours ahead of us here in Alberta, and I will happily be up at 3am or whatever time to watch their wedding live. I love a Royal Wedding! I hope they get married in Westminster Abbey…
    Congrats to the happy couple!

As someone who has lost their mother I love the fact that he thought of his mom and tried to make her a part of this special time. Definitely tuning in for this wedding.

With British parents the Charles/Lady Di wedding was such a huge event in our house. We all crowded around the grainy TV in the basement to watch.
I may have to bring them over to watch this one in HD.
