And the Award for Most Versatile Survivor Tocantins Attire Goes to…

March 6, 2009 by Kath

TAJ, of course.

Her orange stretchy dress-thingy is, like, the perfect thing to wear on Survivor, no?

Worn long, comme ça, it protects the legs from all that scratchy underbrush, keeps them warm and also generally looks lovely:

I’ve often wondered about what people wear on Survivor. We know that on some seasons the survivors had no idea the game was starting and were not prepared with wilderness-appropriate clothing, so they had to tough it out in their bras and panties or, memorably, man skirts:

A Survivor-watching friend and I have a strategy, in case either of us is ever selected to be a castaway on Survivor: the minute you find out you’ve been selected, you start wearing a one-piece (preferably black, tummy-taming with an underwire bra) bathing suit underneath all your clothing, and wear hiking boots every day. And never, ever, under any circumstances get dolled up in a red cocktail dress with matching lingerie and stilettos. (’cause I ever would, anyway, right?)

But this season, methinks the cast were sartorially coached:

Survivor Tribes.jpgOtherwise the whole blue/black-orange/red coincidence is just a little too neat, eh?

What makes me laugh is the amount of “blurring” that they have to do to Sierra’s bum area when she is doing challenges. Did she forget her underpants??? I think my first wardrobe priority for Survivor would be some rather full-coverage black boyshort underwear!!

Ali – you mean Steven didn’t CHOOSE to wear a pink t-shirt?

the colors are certainly not coincidence.
i have read that the producers choose what survivors wear. in an interview with carolina, from this season, she said that she was FORCED to wear that little red dress by the producers. She said that she did not want to be seen in such a frilly, feminine dress because it would be uncomfortable and make her look like a helpless girl, etc. However, she apparently did not have a choice

You are a keen observer of fashion! Much like Sherriemae, I have never really noticed the clothing colours…or rather, the clothing at all. I guess it’s because I don’t really watch Survivor though…

i have to admit after all these years I am still addicted to survivor……although I never get to watch and have to research on blogs and youtube to keep up to day…never actually noticed the clothing colours…maybe its all the orange citrus fruits you have been eating lately..lol
