As a busy mom, I struggle to find my ME time. But I have made a decision, and if you are anything like I am…A JUGGLER of laundry and work and carpool and homework and more laundry and after-school activities and cooking dinner and more laundry…you could benefit from this decision too.
I plan to take an hour a day FOR MYSELF.
I will dedicate one 30-minute segment to sitting down and doing something relaxing….like reading. I love to read, but find that I never actually sit down and curl up with a book like I used to B.K. (before kids) I have a giant list of books that I am dying to read, but either haven’t picked up from the library yet or haven’t had a chance to get to. I plan to get to them now! I also want to teach myself how to make quilts.
I will dedicate the other 30-minute segment to the exact opposite. I will get up and go go. I want to do something active. I have a bike that is sitting in my garage that is covered in cobwebs and a blanket of dust…I want to get on it again and take a half-hour ride through my neighborhood.
I want to take thirty minutes to work in my garden, you know, when the weather is good.
You see…when you don’t take the time to stop and take care of YOU, you are doing no one any favors. So, who’s with me? An hour a day for your mind and your body!
