The Lowdown: I have “done” Florida many, many times. I’ve visited Disney and spent years as a child in Clearwater Beach and as an adult in Coral Gables near Miami. I feel well versed on what Florida has to offer. That is why I was so extremely pleasantly surprised to find the hidden gem that is Amelia Island. This is a beautiful, serene side of Florida I had no idea existed filled with marshland, outdoor activities and animal sanctuaries. A fabulous family vacation.

Kid’s Comments: There was so much to do at Amelia Island! We liked the Amelia Island Plantation resort we stayed at because there was an animal preserve that we visited and we rented bikes to go on a tour and learned about some cool things. The trees were huge and the bikes were really fun. The beach and the pool were great too! But, the most fun thing of all was sea kayaking at Kayak Amelia.

We would highly recommend Amelia Island, Florida for your next family vacation!

Honestly, he was AWESOME. He owns Kayak Amelia and totally supported my son through the journey. Would highly recommend. Plus, the scenery was stunning.
