IT’S ALL ABOUT ME!

January 31, 2012 by ChantelK

No I am not talking about my 5 yr olds current mind set – I
am talking about ME – THE BUSY MAMA!

I am sure you will be shocked to know that I have NEVER had
my nails done (except for my wedding), never have had a pedicure, and have
never been to a spa.  Well that all
changed last Friday night when a good friend forced convinced me to go
with her and another wonderful lady.

Aside from having children over the past 14 years WHAT THE
HELL HAVE I BEEN THINKING!!! It was the best two hours I have ever had! (okay
well maybe the second best two hrs – remember sex and marriage?).

It started off with getting a locker a robe
and a pair of really funky yet comfy slippers that they actually had in my tiny
size….

Then we relaxed with some chit chat, gossip, juice and
really tasty crackers in the lounge…………………

Then it was into the sauna and then into the hot tub! Imagine me actually relaxing and living it up, without having a zillion voices screaming “Mommy!”

After an hour of all that, it was into the most amazing room
of all where I surrendered to a 50 minute massage! My goodness I could have
stayed in that room for a week.  It was
so relaxing with the dim lights, soothing music, and a really nice guy
massaging my tensions away (yes he was pretty good looking too!) No screaming
children, no rushing around to various activities, no texting, no baby’s
crawling all over me, no diapers to change – it was all about me!

This amazing evening and two wonderful friends, reminded me
of how important it is to take care of ourselves – something I have seriously
neglected, but am going to attempt to change.

When is the last time you pampered yourself and said it was
just about you?

Until next
time,

Chantel,

Ok so I am thinking about removing my site from Tumbler and get it to a WordPress blog. I believe this is a wordpress site right? If it is, may I ask where you got the theme? Thanks a bunch!

Zune and iPod: Most people compare the Zune to the Touch, but after seeing how slim and surprisingly small and light it is, I consider it to be a rather unique hybrid that combines qualities of both the Touch and the Nano. It’s very colorful and lovely OLED screen is slightly smaller than the touch screen, but the player itself feels quite a bit smaller and lighter. It weighs about 2/3 as much, and is noticeably smaller in width and height, while being just a hair thicker.

Just today I needed to go downtown to a specific store for a specific item and I asked a friend to join me. We shopped and giggled and then went for lunch – at a real restaurant with tablecloths and everything! – and she even ordered wine! It was great fun and I’m home ready to tackle some paperwork and floor cleaning. I probably bought more than inshouldnhave, but that’s a comment for a different post!

So glad that you’ve taken time out for yourself! I follow your posts and admire your energy! My favourite activity is wandering in the city where there are lots of little galleries to pop into, or I would spend a couple hours at the Art Gallery of Ontario – so calming and inspiring! It’s so peaceful. The other thing I try to do for myself is take art classes. Helps me re-focus and recharge my creative self!

That’s really terrific, Chantel! Good for you for taking a well-deserved break – I hope you’ll continue to make a bit of time for yourself like this in the future! (Hint: go for the 90 minute massage next time… but you might never go home again.)
I love getting massaged – I do believe it’s one of my all-time favourite things to do! (You know, besides the “other” stuff. Heh.) Haven’t been in a while though… should remedy that. Soon.
