I picked up this gorgeous belt by Guess last week from Winners (my favourite!) for $29.99. I wanted something with a more summertime feeling, so I can take a break from the black and brown ones I usually wear all fall and winter.
I love the silvery distressed metallic finish, and a handful of blingy rhinestones are never a bad thing, I figure. I bought it especially to go with white jeans, which I know will be quite perfect. (Especially when I find some… fingers crossed!)

Somehow, I just dont believe you at all…
Nancy says
Christine- I never wore belts when I had little people- extra step , you know.
Nancy says
I got up from a table last week in a restaurant and my pants really didnt
a belt is like an apostrophe
sometimes you need it sometimes you dont
most of my pants are WAY too shall we say fitted
Tracey says
So are mine (mostly) but branching out is good! Especially since I dont wear a lot of pattern, or shirts with words and stuff. Accessories rock, Princess.

I thought the only person who didn’t wear belts was Joey on Friends. (Mine are purely utilitarian though)
Tracey says
I know what you mean, Alice – it totally depends on the fit of the pants in the first place, but if its not cinched to tightly, it wont tend to bunch… I hate bunching. Belts on dresses are always so nice…
Alice says
If you’re bigger on bottom like I am, pants have nowhere to go, so belts are totally unnecessary – they only create weird bunches in the fabric of your pants. But I do have some I’ve bought to wear with dresses for accentuating purposes.

Ive written an emergency post to help you… http://www.urbanmoms.ca/urban_closet/2011/05/accessories—a-word-on-belts.html

We are looking into the apostrophe thing but it is weird…very.
As for belts I own a few but rarely wear them. I do end up hiking up my pants quite often. I hardly ever wear anything tucked in anyway because of the muffin top and dont have any of the cute thin belts to wear over longer shirts (which are always too short on my anyway). Maybe I need to work on the muffin top so I can introduce belts into my wardrobe??
Tracey says
No, no… I wear them for both practical AND embellishment purposes… its just an accessory! Accessories are FUN!! Especially when theyve got bling. Or shell. Or feathers. Or leopard hairyness… oh, I will school you.
And yes – the apostrophes dont work on this set-up for some reason… I noticed it when Ali was writing here too. Curious…
Christine says
Maybe my pants are too small??
They dont fall down or anything…
I dunno…I just…they just…its fine…really…I dont need a belt…right? I havent needed one…or so I thought.
Do I?
Really?
(and why – WHY – is my apostrophe key not working???? why isnt anyones on here???)
Tracey says
I dont understand that Irish girl…
Tracey says
Wait. Wot?! How can you… buy how do you… wait.
WOT??!
Sara says
yuo dont own a belt?????? what holds your pants up?
seriously – my issue is I have to wear a belt so I cant wear cute tops with accessory belts over because I have one under holding up me pants!!!!
Christine says
Oh Grumble…
I am ashamed to admit that…I do not own a belt.
Nary a one.
I look forward to learning from you.
