I love the fact that the menu is constantly changing with the times.
I mean apples in a Happy Meal? It’s great but I never thought I’d see the day. Very rarely my daughter will get French fries now that there is the option of a salad. It just shows me she has been paying attention.
Being a McDonald’s Mom has been such an eye opener for me and my family. Health and wellness is a very crucial thing these days for everyone. My daughter is 11 and my son is 13, and thankfully they know the importance of taking care of yourself.
My daughter came home one day and told me about Ronald McDonald and how he was preaching about physical activity to kids and how important it is. She loved the concept. We all like to treat ourselves once in a while and living an active lifestyle gives us that option.
It’s a given that mostly all pre-teens and teenagers love their McD’s.
I always tell my kids anything is fine in moderation. I can take some comfort in knowing that they are able to make informed decisions about what and how much food they decide to put in their bodies.
It used to be difficult when I was a teenager going out with my friends. It usually consisted of several guys having a Big Mac eating contest and who could consume the most fries in one sitting. Of course you didn’t want to feel left out. Now kids seem to be a lot more okay with ordering a Thai salad with grilled chicken and a bottle of water.
I think McDonald’s has adapted to the changes and helped make eating their healthy choices acceptable and cool to kids.
Bravo!

I remember those Big Mac competitions. Wow, things have really changed. It’s great that there are so many great choices that kids can make. Our kids are paying attention and they want to eat healthy too!
