Hi honey! How are you doing today? Tired? Stressed? Wound up? Awwww…come sit over here and let me help you relax.
Okay, I might not be able to sit you down on my cushy sofa and rub your temples in real life, but if I could, I’d be rubbing lavender essential oil in, too. I’d dab a tiny drop on each temple and smooth it in gently with a circular motion, to relax your mind. I’d smooth it into the palms of your hands and strongly knead the muscle at the base of your thumb.
Why? Because lavender oil has a calming scent which makes it an excellent tonic for the nerves and helps in treating migraines, headaches, anxiety, depression, nervous tension and emotional stress. Its refreshing aroma removes nervous exhaustion and restlessness and increases mental activity. Not only is the scent beneficial, but the oil itself enters your system through the skin and has many positive effects, including inducing sleep, relieving pain and increasing immune response. In addition, lavender essential oil has antifungal and antiseptic properties and can be used to treat minor skin irritations and mild acne.
So: if you need a bit of TLC and care of the kind only a mom can give, pretend I’m there with you and treat yourself to some lavender oil today.

I discovered a lot about the benefits of tea tree oil this summer. Unfortunately my kids came back from camp with lice. Many people put tea tree oil in their shampoo and place drops behind their ears to ward off lice. I didn’t know about the benefits of lavender oil. Thanks for the great tips!
