This Christmas, my wife bought me a new lens for my digital SLR camera. From what she told me, the lens is used to take portrait shots… it does a better job at focusing on certain areas of the frame, while doing a better job at blurring everything else.
A week and a half after receiving this wonderful gift, I now need two things:
- A new laptop, because there are now way too many photos on our computer and it is starting to get really slow!
- Photography lessons, to make sure I am using this stuff properly.

And watching me open my birthday present (ok, I didn’t actually take this one)…

new laptop? pshaw. Just get an second hard drive, or have a clinic upgrade the one you have. Way easier and way cheaper. 750 GB can be had for around $125

heh. I actually have the 50mm and I got the 85mm prime for chrismukah…so don’t bask too much. hahahah.

I love the “slice of life”-ness of your photos. Do tell, Mr.Photographer, what’s the new lens you’re using (I had a 50mm on my Christmas wish list, but Santa didn’t come through).

Adorable pictures of ‘pea’ and daddy pea!! It’s obvious that daddy pea is having as much fun with the new toys as his daughter.
I’m now convinced that parents who generously give lots and lots of toys to their children for Christmas are simply trying to relive their own childhoods (I know because I’m guilty of the same crime)! I’m more impressed with some of the new gadgets out there than my own daughters are!
