I love driving a car. When I turned 16 I could not wait to get my drivers licence. I always knew independence was important and being able to drive and own my own car was at the top of my to do list. Thirty years later I still feel the same way.
However, owning a car is expensive! Finding the right car at the right price can be an exhausting process. So when our friends at Chevrolet asked me to test drive the not yet released new 2013 Chevy Trax, I was thrilled.
Is it a car or is it a SUV? Yes, it is one of those vehicles. At first glance it looks compact like a car or small SUV, but when you get inside it has all the features of a full size SUV.
What I liked about the Chevy Trax:
- From the outside it looks like a small version of a solid SUV. I immediatley felt like I will be safe on the roads no matter what the weather is.
- It has a spacious trunk that will fit at least two hockey bags.
- It comes with all the options you could want. All Wheel Drive, GPS, Rear View Camera and a Chevrolet Mylink, which interfaced with my smart phone to a 7 inch colour screen just to name a few. (This was so cool.)
- It is spacious inside. Lots of leg room in the front and the back and the rear seat is one of the most comfortable I have ever sat in.
- It meets the highest safety standards. This little SUV has 10 airbags – feeling safe yet?
- The sleek interior provides a comfortable user friendly environment including lots of storage space and much needed cup holders for longer longer car rides.
I had the opportunity to do downtown city driving as well as out in the country. I had no problem getting around town and once I hit the snowy highway I felt safe and in control with my All Wheel Drive. The fuel efficiency also makes it very attractive these days.
I really loved driving this car. It is definitely a smaller feel on the inside, but the perfect alternative in a great price range for someone entering the car market, or perhaps downsizing from a larger minivan or SUV. This New Small SUV has a starting MSRP of $18,495.
If you are in the market for a new vehicle keep your eyes open for the new 2013 Chevy Trax, it is definitely worth taking a look (maybe even a test drive!)
