I’m not a Twi-Hard or a Pot-head (is that what they called Harry Potter fans?? If not they should have!). But I kept seeing previews for the Hunger Games movie and I got really intrigued and proceeded to read the trilogy in a couple weeks.
Pure and total book candy. It was a great break from the deeper book club books. I told one of my friends to get it for her vacation. She went to Chapters and the sales person said you may as well get all three, your kids will want to read them. I think she just said ‘um kids yeah – right.’ Our kids are reading Thomas for godsakes.
Anyway – the movie comes out Friday and I think it will be better than the book. Why? Well look – the book is not going to win the Booker Prize or anything – it’s just a fun, action adventure/love triangle story. And helloooo…Donald Sutherland is in it! He is so perfectly cast!
And the love triangle? I hope Katniss doesn’t care about height. These three look like a flight of stairs! The very good guy is of course the short one….and the taller good guy (because of course everyone should have multiple good guys to choose from) is Liam Hemsworth. For some reason his hotness factor is reduced because he’s dating Miley Cyrus – that’s just me.
I also really REALLY love Jennifer Lawence. She’s smart, funny and truly beautiful. Look at her eyes. I wear next to no makeup but I want to learn how to make my eyes do this. STAT.
So the movie comes out on Friday – are you going? Have you read it? Are you sporting a Team Peeta or Team Gale shirt?? What does it say about me that I was sort of a Team Haymitch player…..and he’s played by Woody Harrelson in the movie so I’m still hoping for a shocking twist away from the book! No??
Here’s a trailer in case you’ve been under a rock for the last month.

Devoured that series sometime during the dreadful month of February… Sucked. Them. Down. I think I’m Team Peeta… and ohmygod Lezzy Kravitz is playing Cinna, so I’ll have to be first in line to see the flick when it opens, natch. Le sigh. What a fun read!
