It was just about six months ago that I first found out that I would be travelling to France to learn more about La Roche Posay and the amazing work they’re doing to help people suffering from eczema, psoriasis, and other painful, uncomfortable, and often embarrassing skin disorders. Six months ago, I had very little knowledge about how all-encompassing these issues can be for both individuals and their families; I was just as ignorant about how much La Roche Posay is doing to help.
In my last post, I told you all about Liam Rowan-Knott and how he traveled with his family to the town of La Roche-Posay in southern France to seek treatment for the severe eczema Liam had experienced since birth. You learned about the guilt and frustration Liam’s mother felt in her inability to “cure” Liam. You also learned how relieved she felt when she began using La Roche Posay’s Lipikar cream and he started getting better. And finally, you shared in her joy when she described the dramatic changes she’d witness since Liam had began being treated by the La Roche Posay doctors and the miraculous thermal spring waters.
But Liam isn’t the only Canadian child to benefit from the La Roche Posay protocol for treating eczema; he was only one of 100 families who were provided with products, advice, and support in the daily struggle that thousands of parents and children across Canada are dealing with. I’ve been following the stories of these families and the results are astounding. Not only that, but since I began writing about La Roche Posay, I cannot even tell you how many of my friends have told me that their children suffer from eczema and that they wouldn’t trust anything but the Lipikar products. And it’s not just the Lipikar that people rave about; my friends tell me that the La Roche Posay sun protection line is the best one out there because in addition to preventing sun damage, it is actually beneficial and healing for skin. Its what I’ve been using for the last two weeks that I’ve been with my family in Florida and it’s the first time not one of us has experienced a sun rash, dryness, or any other issues we’ve had in the past.
Personally speaking, I have to admit that I’ve never used the Lipikar as fortunately, no one in my family suffers from a skin disorder. However, as a woman who just turned forty (yikes!) I can tell you that since last summer, I have been using the La Roche Posay skin care products on a regular basis and my skin has never looked better. And I’m not the only one who noticed. Just around my birthday in September, I went to a “cosmetic physician” for a consultation. She remarked about how unbelievable my skin looked for a woman my age and told me that I didn’t really need her help! Part of that is genetics (thanks, Mommy!) but I am certain that another part of that was due to my daily dose of La Roche Posay’s Dem AHA Intense Resurfacing Serum. This (next to the Cicaplast) is my favorite product; I may or may not be addicted.
I know that between my description of Liam’s experience at the La Roche Posay hospital and my experience with La Roche Posay products, I sound a bit over the top, but I can honestly say that I have never been so impressed with a line of products before. I can honestly say that of all of the products I’ve tried and learned about over the past few years, this is the only one that garnished so much praise from both me and the tons of people who responded to my posts. Going to France and learning about this amazing company was one of the best experiences of the past year. I know that it’s not possible for most of you out there to visit La Roche like Liam or I did, but if you suffer from eczema or sensitive skin or are constantly looking for the next best thing for skin care, I encourage to check these products out.

Beyond a small sample size, I was not at all compensated for my review of the La Roche Posay Products. I have since continued to purchase these products over and over again because I just love them so darn much.

currently I am sitting here with my hands wrapped after I soaked them in coconut oil. I’m in a psoriasis flare up and it is extremely painful. Definitely going to check out these products.
