So my Thanksgiving miserable mood is continuing. It did NOT help watching the Cory Monteith tribute episode of Glee last night. My eyes are almost swollen shut today and I don’t even watch the freaking show! I also saw Gravity in 3D IMAX right before so lets couple the tears with nausea at having essentially walked in space for an hour and a half. I sat down to write a post but it seemed depressing and I need to get out of this funk. Therefore, I’m going to reflect on things that make me thankful – not deep, obvious things like my kid, health, home, family and friends but those other things that do. I mean those little random nuggets of gold that make me happy. So…
1. Food trucks – and not the cupcake ones, that just seem like a waste to me.
2. Having the pool lane to myself (which I did this week and it was heavenly).
3. Getting snail mail that isn’t bills.
4. Having a week of not having to send money to Will’s school.
6. An ice cold Yeungling beer at the Shadow Lake bar.
7. Finding random money in my pockets.
8. The first sip of the first coffee of the day.
9. Driving in the car and having Tomorrow by Silverchair come on the radio.
10. A freezing cold glass of milk with chocolate cake and chocolate icing.
11. Listening to David Sedaris tell stories.
12. Biting into a burrito and having all the tastes hit your mouth at the same time.
13. A first kiss that turns out to be as good as you were anticipating.
14. Silence. That perfect silence when Will has drifted off and the house is mine.
15. Did I say a shirtless Charlie Hunnam yet?
16. Winning paddle matches. I’ll admit it, I’m so competitive that this makes me happy.
17. Gut laughing. I have to put one ‘aww’ one here. When Will and I are having tickle fights and he shrieks with laughter. I’m thankful that that noise is in my life.
18. A perfect piece of hamachi sashimi. Just bit of soya sauce and a tiny dot of wasabi.
19. Not having to listen to The Wiggles anymore.
20. Long weekends! Filled with pumpkin patches and fairs and Hallowe’en decorating and sleeping and chicken dinners and… and…
You? Besides the obvious, what are you thankful for this time of year?? You can thank me for the pictures too. Man I feel better already!

Well, the new Thor movie is coming out in a few weeks, that’s always good stuff. (YUM)
The extra day off when I need a little tiny break.
The fact that my duaghter has gotten into reading Harry Potter together makes me very happy.
Days that are nice enough to keep wearing dresses a little longer without tights.
Music on my headphones.
Days when I can squeeze in a run, and the fact that I’m creeping back up to where I was on that.
I’m always thankful for bedtime and for good books.
I’m glad the saga of my cat is finally over and we’re fine with it.
