excuse me, your life is waiting

January 17, 2012 by Nancy

My book club chose this book for our latest read and the one to review at our annual book club weekend- no surprise that we would chose a title like this to jump start the new year.

The book claims to revolutionize the way you live your life through the power of positive feelings and visualizing. It seemed only right that we would build the weekend around such a simple yet compelling notion.
The weekend was a soul searching weekend and we organised food and exercise around that. Beyond the regular eating drinking talking laughing and preparing fabulous food- we meditated and did story boards around what we want next. We were supposed to do yoga but food got in the way. Priorities.
The idea behind  a story board for your life is that whatever you make present in your mind, you will make happen because it is forefront and present and you are mindfull of it.

My board was the most crowded, I even had to go over onto the other side. What does that say about me? Life pig? I forgot anything romantic and then slapped it on at the end on the other side. What does that say?
By the way, this is not a well written book. At all. She is chatty like a middle aged woman who lingered too long over several goopy drinks at the swim up bar at the resort. Which of course made it a NY Times Bestseller. But the idea is  FANTASTIC.
When was the last time you stopped to really focus on what you want?
Life is made up of difficulty and work and joy and tedium and surprise but this weekend was pure joy.
There were many  really amazing moments but one  I need to share with you
there was this

and this- belgian chocolate brioche french toast with rasberry coulis

Delicious.
I have to go now. My life is waiting.

That’s amazing – I was JUST thinking of creating a life board recently. I made mood boards all the time, when I’m reinventing a space in my home, and I know about making one for life too… I just never did. And now YOU have. So, I should probably give that some more thought…
Sounds like you had an excellent time with your friends, Life Pig. I love it!! xox
