This past long weekend Cam spent Saturday at a friends house and slept over there.
On Sunday he went to watch fireworks at another friends house and ended up sleeping over there.
It seems that in the past 6 months the amount of sleepovers he goes to or sleepovers we host has increased dramatically. At least once a month.
Grade 3 seems to be the year of the sleepover. They are happening on such a regular basis.

It’s great and I love it. Pull out the queen size sofa bed in the basement, pop some popcorn and throw on a movie – and it’s like Eva’s an only child.
The boys – Cuyler included – are downstairs doing their thing and we’re upstairs hanging with Eva.
The last time Cam had a friend sleep over, Sean and I cooked up a delicious bbq dinner after Eva went to bed and were able to eat it in peace, without interruption.
Having friends over makes everything easier. He’s not complaining about how bored he is or whining that he has nobody to play with. Adding an extra kid into the mix essentially takes one or 2 kids out of my mix.
And I think it’s a huge social lesson for Cuyler. He SO badly wants to to what their doing and be like them. He gets so bloody excited when he finds out that Cam has a friend sleeping over he flies up to his room, grabs his comforter, runs it down to the basement and makes sure he saves himself a spot down there with them. So far Cam and his friends get a real kick out of Cuyler joining them. Hopefully that continues.
Do your kids do sleepovers? What age did they start and does it continue to be a regular thing or does the novelty wear off?
