This Dad’s Chalk Art Puts Yours To Shame

September 9, 2014 by Marianne Litman Leave a Comment

I remember the days of writing my name in chalk on the sidewalk in front of my house. I would sometimes draw little house, the always popular hopscotch court, maybe flowers sometimes, or a bird if I was feeling adventurous.

This dad puts my chalk skills to shame: what this dad creates is nothing short of animated artwork. BJ Wilkinson is, as his Instagram puts it, a full time dad and part time artist. His sidewalk chalk art is really something amazing. Add to that his daughter Ava who interacts with the pieces and you’ve really got something magical!

Wilkinson tells PopSugar.com “I started including Ava in the scenes because it was funny and she’s the most receptive to the whole concept. My other two kids are 14 and 13 and are ‘too cool’ to pose with cheesy cartoon characters.”

Fair enough, but let me be the first to say, as an adult, I am not too cool to interact with completely awesome cartoon characters. And I have a feeling once Wilkinson’s teens see their dad going viral, they going to be begging to be in those photos!

Until then, check out Ava having fun with her dad’s masterpieces below:

Ava and the Tick Tock Croc from Peter Pan

Ava taming Scar from The Lion King

Ava fighting Chun-Li from Street Fighter
