We’re on vacation!!!
I have to laugh. Will woke up this morning and said, ‘Mom, I can’t wait to be on vacation! I can’t wait to go to Florida!!’
Okay kid. Exactly what do you need a vacation from? Playing all day? Having someone cook your meals for you? Someone wiping your butt?
I think he gets excited for vacation because he gets to watch movies on the plane. I already scoped it out and it’s Hotel Transylvania. He’s pumped.
We really have been blessed to have taken some sweet vacations in his short time on the planet. We’ve gone on some road trips to New York and Montreal. We’ve spent some amazing time in Ontario cottage country and this is our third time heading to the Sunshine State.
I love that he is already building some solid memories from these trips. He asked me this morning if we could have another date night in Florida. When I asked what we did on our last one, he rhymed it all off – walked to this pier; talked to the fishermen; had dinner at the restaurant; ice cream at the ice cream store and a trolley ride home.
He left out the part where he fell asleep at the dinner table. I wish some of the dates I’ve been on would have done that…would have been FAR more enjoyable.
Are you guys taking off anywhere to escape this cold?? And before you ask…no, we’re not going to Disney. I’m a mean mom. His little buddy is going and he said ‘Mom, Florida is WAY more fun than Disney right??”. I said ‘oh absolutely’….and if he buys that maybe I can sell him some swamp land. Some other time my friend…but this year, take me to the BEACH!!!

have a fantastic time! that just goes to prove that it’s not the things the kids love but the experiences. my oldest still goes on about our dinner and theatre night from 6 years ago! a friend of mine went here…
